just wondering every ones thought on Dumont still competing on last years Dumont pro model. Although I demoed it last year and really liked it, this cant be to good for this years pro model.
 
It might just be that hes been on the move for the summer, and that he hasn't had a chance to pick up the new ski. He's been in NZ for alot of it, and he might have just taken the old pro model.

Needless to say, the old dumont was sick, and he might have just had that on hand when he left for NZ. If he didn't like his own pro model they would have changed it before releasing it, and because it was good last year I doubt they changed it.
 
he only really uses his 09 model for pipe. I think he definatly likes last yaers better. I also do too.
 
well he clearly has both he uses them in NZ and the 1/4 pipe record and some other times i can remember. but i heard it took like 20 different models before he agreed with one any way i dunno but it doesnt look good for salomon
 
i think that he just want used to them is totally legit. becuase if you look, in some pictures taken late in the season he startd using his 09 pro model
 
I've been wondering the same thing cause the old Dumonts he's been skiing with what 2-3 years and now they finally came out with a new one and he's still using the older ones. Weird.
 
dumont is definitely using A) 2008 dumonts, cause they slay

B) 2008 dumonts with 09 topsheets. look closely at a lot of the shots, they're last years skis with new graphics. sketch.

C) i think i've seen him on the legit 09 dumonts like...once.

i think it sucks, salomon spent like ten years making cap skis and they finally perfected it with the 08 dumont...and then moved on to sidewall. they should bring back the 08 dumonts as some other ski. and no, the 09 teneighties are different skis, they're softer.
 
the 09 look sick and seem great with the edge armor and all but as said salomon was great with cap construction an just moved into sandwhich but if i were in the marke for skis and i had lots of money id rather go wih suspects

It could also be the fact that he is so used to them, and doesn't really feel like making the switch right now. Obviously, it would be a lot easier to use a ski you are comfortable with for a world record, or a big comp. Why he wouldn't use the new skis in NZ is beyond me though, hes gotta get used to them sometime.
 
yea that way when he goes down the hill hes can be like wait wats my name again o yea its dumont im awsome
 
haha, i should paint my name on my skis just so i can do that. because in my mind, i'm awesome.
 
i wouldnt be worried at all, he was probably more comfortable on them. but if anybody notices, he used them for the world record, i think i would rather compete on the same ski i had ridden for what 2years? 3 years? rather than one ive been skiing for 1 month (of legit snow)
 
Thats not to say that he didn't use his new ones in NZ at all though...

Don't you think it is funny that some of the better pipe skis are cap construction though..I heard T-hall's next pro model is a pipe ski with cap construction too..
 
cap skis are way underrated yes some sandwhich are better but if you have a soid cap ski nothing can beat it they ski just as well if not better and they are so durable some delam or watev but iv never had that problem so idk
 
marketing trick, thats what salomon wanted you to think....

what do you expect. Salomon is famous for the pro models sold being different to the ones actually ridden by the pros.
 
well the suspect and the new dumont are the same except for the graphic and some extra edge armor. maybe he's being petulant about the fact that he only has a promodel graphic now, and not a real promodel ski anymore.
 
dumont gets stiffer when im riding it

jokes.. but i think the suspect is softer.. thats why im porbably getting it
