The tow in guy most have been a competing pipe skier who didn't want to be dominated in the upcoming contests so he decided that he would kill the Dumont.

yeah I don't get it either... This jump has a huge reception (Is it called reception?), I don't understand how can you calculate so bad the speed... I would understand coming short, But that long... ¿? Anyway, I hope he is fully recovered cause he is one of the best skiers out there

That jump looked so sketch, the landing was like as steep as an aerial hill. Not surprising people miscalculated it, although Dumont went past the landing.

If you look at the picture closely you can see that he is flailing from the beginning. I think he knew as soon as he was in the air that he was going to overshoot by like a mile.

actually the speed was calculated perfectly... u think math doesnt work in real life? 55 mph on the sled. what messes u up is u can get the whip off the rope as the sled turns away. which can give you a huge boost in speed. just look at wakeboarders. dielon had to hit it right after him at the same speed but he made the landing

i heard the jump was like 80 feet. doesn't sound too big, but you could take it to like 200 or something rediculous. (i might be exhagerating)

yeah I remember reading something about it, like the jump wasn't huge, but the landing was... and Simon cleared it by far, I heard he flew 200 ft. (thats a lot...)

i saw the footage from justin it was possibly the flatests biggest scariest airs i have ever seen, honestly i never meet the kidand i know he will be back but fuck that was one hard hit, however i did not see the mike wilson gap jump though so i have no basis for comparison(sorry to bring it up mike)

you guys blaming the sled guy are so dumb. its heaps hard to judge the speed when you are getting towed in cuz if you whip yourself you can be going like 20 mph fastewr than if you just drop the rope. that same guy would have towed others into the jump, and you didnt see anyone else overclear by that much did you. he would have just whipped himself much too hard and not noticed that he was going too fast.

it's not up to the sled guy to judge the speed. the rider tells him how fast to go, and he does it.
