Simon Dumont where is he atm?

Does Dumont still ski? I haven't seen him in any edits or in any pipe comps for a season or 2.. that kid shreds really really hard.. i miss his balls to the wall segments.
 
He just left Chipotle and is on his way home.

But idk this tracking chip has been acting really weird lately so I could be wrong.
 
Looks like he's enjoying life and exploring the world while taking tons of photos (which aren't bad at all). Good on him! I want to do that one day^^
 
Seems like hes just taking time off, using his well earned money on traveling and having a good time. Hope to see some sort of segment this season, gonna miss seeing him at xgames this year.
 
Well he retired from comps a few years ago..i think he'll put a few edits out this season. Would hate to see him step away from skiing.
 
Stept put out an edit of him last year. It was actually super banger... But yeah, I believe he is stepping back to travel and focus on post ski life. He should forever be viewed as one of the top innovators of the sport. Simon "big air" Dumont lived up to his nick name every time he clicked in.
 
Probably taking a break from the ski world. Doesn't shock me, He was a legitimate contender for a good number of years on the biggest stage for his respective discipline (pipe skiing) along with Tanner and other killers. Not only that, he was stacking shots for movies on top of traveling the world and competing. If that's not a full plate then I don't know what is, really. It does seem like a great life but im sure it brings stress. Then the newer generations of pipe skiers like Torin, Blunck, JPV, etc. came up and started blowing these dudes by which has to be frustrating seeing people kick your ass after maybe a year or two on the pro-stage while you've been doing it for at least 5 already.

People say he was an asshole and he surely could have handled losing a bit better somedays, but you got to at least understand where he is coming from. The dude put his heart into that shit and when it doesn't go your way, tempers certainly flare and you get emotional. Ill always cherish those Tanner/Simon medal round pipe duels @ X. Easily some of the greatest moments our sport has seen. That was the epitome of competitive skiing, I think. Two dudes pouring everything they got into their crafts and it blew our minds.

I think he'll come back, though. Deep deep down, the reason pros ski is because they truly do love it and its their passion, as much as people get all caught up in the competition/FIS-regulated stuff. Its obvious hes taking some years to gather himself and figure out what to do with the rest of his life now.
 
He's been hosting the Dumont cup at Sunday River for the past few years, but word is last year's was the final one, which I hope is not true.
 
Simon dumont is so fucking jacked so i think he doesn't ski as much and does like cross fit or something. Still a sick dude though. Used to have the best segs

So many emotions watching these as a grom. I worshipped the ground Simon walked on. I miss these days too

Thank you, people use to and still probably think of him as an asshole, I encountered him at Dew Tour at Killington before his pipe run at the top and he was goofing around with Justin Dorey in the tent and he just seemed like a cool dude. The big drawback was I saw a dad ask if his kid could get a picture with him but he said no because his run was coming up and needed to focus, which makes sense but no matter what its rewarding to get the fans stoked. Dumont was one of the reasons I wanted to go pro, Ive grown up in his position of being a short kid and having to work harder than the bigger kids at whatever I was doing. My friends tell me they think hes an asshole but I just ignore them. The only time you see him upset or pissed off is when the competition goes wrong, which happened to him a few times in terms of scores. If I was the top skier in my discipline for many years and then one year this 15 year old kid beats me (dumonts run was better imo) Id be a bit pissed off to.

I really hope Dumont makes a comeback, whether he makes one more crazy segment like the cubed pipe or he does a couple more competitions, Ill be so stoked. Regardless, hes a legend in the sport, really happy he didnt go Tanners route and start shitting on comp skiers, he just skis without any bullshit to say.
