everyone on this site looks up to professional skiers. sure, some take it a little far, but shouldn't a professional skier be flattered by that? instead, you ridicule the kids who treat pro's as celebrities? why would you do that? hmm . . . let me think for another minute. i might know why: you don't get treated like a celebrity the way Dumont does. you're a little bitter, so you decide to let the Dumont-worshippers have it by suckering them into making fools of themselves.
 
easy there killer, its a sale on ebay, stop hating man, plenty of people want a simon dumont autograph so symms provided it, whether some people think its stupid or not it doesnt matter because the value of something is completely objective. I would never buy rollerblades for example because i dont value them, but other people will buy them because they DO value rollerbaldes. just like how some people wont buy this poster because they dont see its value, and some people do see value in the poster. just because you think people will "make fools out of themselves" by buying it doesnt mean others dont think its a good deal. obviously the people bidding see some value. plus, even if you disagree with what i said, who cares, its an ebay sale and it doesnt really matter...

plus symms, you just want to buy some cigarettes, right?

You're missing the point here. It's a given that value is subjective, and that people willing to spend more on the poster place more value on the poster. Thanks for trying your best to explain that, though. I guess that leaves you with one point: this is just an ebay auction. I would disagree. It's an ebay auction, and it's a joke on the people who bid exorbitant amounts of money on the poster. It's kind of like getting a crackhead to do something self-degrading for a crack rock. It's amusing for the people watching, and the crackhead gets what he wants, but it's a little more than your average business dealing . . . just as this is more than your average ebay auction.
 
i'm not making fun of anybody. i think it's totally fine to want the autograph of somebody you look up to. and as a skier, it's totally understandable to look up to the dumont. i'm curious to see how much money his autograph will go for, so i'm selling it, the same way you'd sell an nba player's autograph, or anything like that.

i wasn't ridiculing anybody at all. i don't know where you picked up that idea. maybe you're so insecure that you imagine everything out of the ordinary is an attempt to ridcule you. i don't know you. i don't know your problems. but just to clarify, i'm not making fun of anybody. i'm seeing what people think a dumont autograph is worth. and i think it's really cool that some people are stoked on buying it (people who aren't complete haters, like you). at the same time, i'm not surprised that a dumont autograph fetches a little money, because he's dope, and he's a big deal.

grow up. and in the mean time, show me where i ridiculed anybody who wanted a dumont autograph. i bought a cal ripken jr. autograph once, and i understand it's exactly the same thing. if somebody wants dumont's autograph, i think that's cool. and i'd never make fun of a fan for wanting his autograph.

not everybody has $3000 to go to ski camp. most people have $30 though. i'm bringing a little piece of the experience to the kid who didn't go to ski camp, as opposed to the "normal kids like us" who have thousands of dollars to travel across the country and ski at a glacier in the summer.
 
what you have done is actually quite smart...these tools are comparing it to SAC flipping or some shit..its not like this is an 'e-crime' or anything.

but i dont understand what is wrong with selling an autograph. makes sense to me. plus by doing this john makes an extra 30 dollars(1 bill apparently...hahah..jokesjokes)to pay for a couple of beers at the bar. what is wrong with that?
