I just wanted to throw this out onto NS. That Simon Dumont will be appearing on the Ellen show on Monday. Congratulations on beating the record i hope you try to get it established as a Guinness record! Thanks for exposing newschool skiing to the majority of mainstream America.
 
i remember the days when I told people that I ski when asked if I snowboard, and they looked at me weird. then i had to explain that it was not what they thought. yup, the gold ole days.
 
^i'd say simon is getting pretty good at the whole interview thing. ellen will just talk about how she can't even jump without skis and all the fat ladies will laugh and then simon's 15 mins will be over.
 
I live in the UK, no one understands that skiers don't have to be either wearing lycra and doing Slalom or over 40.... and when they see pictures of me they're like oh so you snowboard yea ??? NO ! I hope the UK will one day get this much exposure....

this is true. i have to exlpain to my granny about weekly what i do, it's quite funny, she just can't corehend this "new idea." i get it from pretty much everyone though.
 
hahaha, my granny used to backcountry ski where i ski now before there was lifts so she knows where all the good lines on the mountain are when I show her my pics its pretty funny.

and she knows what hafpipes are "those metal things kids slide on" so I think shes pretty rad for being 89.

haaaahh, that sounds funny. at least i lived through the good times of getting bashed for skiing, now everyone knows! thats shitty!
 
everyone says that to me, but all my friends that snowboard dont cuz they know what i do. everyone else that doenst do either thinks skiing is just going down the hill and not doing anything "cool".
 
Yea people unmderstand when I say "I'm a freestyle skiier." But they dont understand when i say, "I'm a Newschool Skier." we are slowly approaching that time tho...
 
My dad: "Willem here is our big skier" (haha), some person: "Oh so your a snowboarder right" me: "No... no I am skier"... yeah still happens.
 
that is so far from any sort of english word it's amazing. your grandma probably just couldn't understand the weird shit you were saying.

and yea whenever I'm like yea I like to ski, like in the terrain parks and stuff people are like "oh word, so you snowboard!" generally I just go with it and say I snowboard it's way easier.
 
well i watched the show and it was just a video of him on there i got really excited because i thought he would actually be on it but it was just a 30 second video and she said congratulations. thats all but it was cool to see something of a skier on a show like that.
 
my dental hygenist always asks me how snowboarding is and i just repeat that i ski. she gives me this dumbfounded looks and says"oh i thought you would do all those cool snowboarding mooves of the ramps." and when i told her about skiing on rails she was blown away
