Of a group of us are going there today. And since this is "skiing's online community" I thought I would ask if anyone is in that area? We're looking for a place to stay and maybe a little bit of local friendliness...

thats gonna be hard to find man. like a total of 50 people live in that town during the winter. good luck though!
 
doesnt mean alot of people will live there, that town is a ghost town. 1 resteraunt was open, the gas station a spooky motel and a couple bars. The only people that live in that town in the winter are the mtn managers, the ski patrolers, A sheriff, the guy that runs the bars, and a few people that drive the CDOT trucks to clear the passes into silverton.
 
silverton is pretty much a ghost town, no joke its deserted but the skiing is rediculously epic , its soo good, i doubt anyone on here lives there..sorry bro
