Silly Vail.

Not surprised. Breck isn't allowed to have their, what used to be official, "Gaper Day" on April first every year because it's "Derogatory"

hahah wow they actually got the gaper term down pretty well, that is suprising. I love the last paragraph. damn choobs

Lol it's funny to see "Gaper" explained so properly. Speaking of Gaper Day, this weekend I'm gonna wear my dads onesie from like 10 years ago and I'm gonna have this bright blue headband on my head, it's gonna be hilarious.

"The etymology is simple. Gapers garnered their nickname because, while standing somewhere they shouldn't be, thus making them an accident-waiting-to-happen, the mouth tends to be agape."

...

i was almost positive the term gaper was derived from the exposed forehead between hat/helmet and goggles created when the combination is worn by someone ill-experienced in mountain sports, or "gaper gap". guess i was wrong?

actually its not that suprising, there are some people who write for the daily who produce stuff like this regularly

it is a quite awesome newspaper

i think that boats gunna sink soon if you dont get a bigger one, because most people will be in ti

That is incorrect actually. The Gaper Gap was a term derived from the term Gaper.

The original term for a gaper is someone who gawks or gapes.

Gape:

[*]an expression of openmouthed astonishment

[*]goggle: look with amazement; look stupidly

[*]a stare of amazement (usually with the mouth open)

Following, these definitions would make you a "Gaper".

The "Gaper Gap" became a term from all the idiots that wear their helmets and goggles like retards. You're automatically a Gaper if you have a Gaper Gap.

No news on that.

But the Vail Daily today was pretty fuckin' funny.

A baby born on top of Mount Elbert, Vail Resorts to hire robots to eliminate employee housing problems.
