I am looking to buy a silk screen press and I am just wondering what is the difference between a single color press and a 4 color press? What are the advantages to the 4 color press?
 
I would honestly look into it more before you purchase anything, the truth is you cannot get a quality press for cheap, the difference in the 1-color and 4-color is pretty easy to understand....each color (in therory) requires a diffirent screen, it gets done in layers. obviously with a single color press you are limited to only printing one color, it means the press your getting can only hold 1 screen, which is a limiting thing. The four color press would then give you the ability to print four diffirent colors onto what you wish to print.

To give you fore-warning, there is alot more equipment needed to screenprint, my advice would be to go down to a local shop/internet and see how it all works.
 
its definatley fun. over the past summer i got a silk screen press. it is definatley worth it but make sure you really want it. i have spent at least 2 grand on the whole thing. there is a lot of stuff that goes on. you need a room, plumbing, and all sorts of stuff. check out www.silkscreeningsupplies.com they have kits that have everything that you need. there are also some videos on the site that explain the process pretty well. if you are interested i would check it out. its pretty easy to make money with a screen printer.
