Silk Road II Closed Down

"About $70,000 of that money went towards a down payment on a $127,000 Tesla Model S."

Lad had a good taste in cars, stimulated the national economy, build an enterprise and stayed green.

I give him props for that.

It was only a matter of time. I'll stick to the old fashioned way of buying drugs.

it's crazy though that they had undercover fbi officers working for sr2 before it even launched though. Something tells me we're not getting the whole story from sr1 to sr2.

Yeah I'm curious as well to find out how that operation happened.

that and i wonder at the fact that they were able to find people and servers or whatever despite their use of tor and other stuff. i sorta doubt it's a coincidence that the dept of homeland security, who are boys with the NSA, were involved

not taking a stance on either side morally/politically etc etc. but you can pretty much guarantee there was some serious (and interesting) shadiness on both sides of this! too bad we couldn't get the full story made into a good movie

The main guy from SR1 and the main guy from SR2 were both in San Francisco. Obviously they knew each other in real life. If no one knew each other in real life, only by deepweb pseudonyms, no one would have been caught.

cant believe how little he made, shy of 300,000 in a year is a good salary, but not for taking that kind of risk

Im sure he was trying to keep his risk down, since coming into huge amounts of money with no obvious income source is a huge red flag for the police. Kinda stupid to buy such and expensive car in my opinion.

To me the "online market" is a sign of freedom and to see the goverment take it done sickens me.

I hope another site pops up sooner or later, to stick it to the man

it's been common knowledge for some time that NSA/FBI/whatever has master keys to decrypt tor....just need time to compile evidence to form a case.
