I’m not saying that women are not as good as men with this. In fact, I think most people would agree that more spins may be more difficult but not quite as enjoyable to watch. In contest skiing, maybe this is more marketable? In filming/social media type skiers, not so much. So just because does a trick that is objectively more difficult doesn’t automatically say everything about a skier.
I feel like this this is important to say because a lot of women(and people in general) get defensive when someone points out that their skiing isn’t the most technical compared to so and so. But there are so many ways to describe what “good” skiing is these days, that this skill argument is never going to come to any concrete conclusion. Women’s vs men’s skiing really involves so many more factors that make up both favorable and unfavorable differences. So I wouldn’t say that his reasoning isn’t valid, because so many things contribute to the industry.

Sarah Burke(RIP) actually had a good take in an interview back in the day on the subject of women getting paid for freeskiing, not necessarily comp money. The interviewer made the, accurate, point that there are plenty of men who are better skiers than she is who make far less money. She agreed that that was true, but also made the (very accurate) point that she had the opportunity to influence women, who are a market that would interest her sponsors. She was correct on all counts. Arne Backstrom was a much better skier than his sister Ingrid (she admitted as much in the move The Way I See It) yet he never got the sponsorship she did. I'm not saying it was wrong that she got paid more than her brother, I'm just saying that when women say they are paid less than men of comparable ability, that is NOT true.
I watch some of the FWT events online on the website. Sometimes I watch a couple of the snowboarding runs, I never bother watching the women ski. They are great skiers, but I don't bother watching all the men's runs, so I would probably not want to watch the women, I am just not going to spend the time. I really doubt the FWQ events generate much revenue, so I don't see any reason why the women should be paid less.
Lindsay Vonn gets paid much more than men who can outski her. She is very marketable, she deserves it.
If the women's events ARE getting less viewers and generating less revenue, why on earth should they be paid the same? Can you give me a logical reason? I don't know if any of these events really generate much revenue, so it is probably a moot point anyway.
Anyone who thinks the women in the WNBA should get paid the same as the men in the NBA is a complete idiot. I'm not saying you are, just pointing it out that there are people who are stupid enough to believe that. Anyone who thinks the women in the WNBA and the men in the NBA are doing the same thing has never watched a game and never looked at the revenues generated. I would suggest that people who have a problem with the fact that the women in the WNBA make less should direct their energy in the direction of getting people to watch the WNBA. If more people start watching the WNBA it will generate more revenue and the players will get paid more.
If someone wants an example of a situation where the women ARE getting screwed, from what I have heard, that would be the women's national soccer team. I have heard they generate more revenue, yet get paid less. If that is true then that is fucked up.
Serena Williams makes far more money than men who could beat her.

Make pay based on a percentage of income for the event , men and women can each get %10 or whatever amount , however if one genders event generates more income that gender will make more , yet it’s equal
