Probably a repost but none the less

Does anyone go to SNC.?

The skiing is great,but how is the social scene? With it being such a small school do you get sick of it? How are the dorms/teachers. It is between this school(top choice for ski business and Outdoor leadership) and Green Mountain College.

the town its in sucks most of the kids there suck.... you'd be better off going to the truckee campus of sierra community college
 
SNC is sick. but defiantly not a party school. everyone pretty much shreds all the time.

professors and dorms are super chill. easy classes and an easy degree.
 
You should think about checking out LSC as well. Similar program to Green Mountain but way cheaper and a bit bigger school. I looked at GMC at first but ended up going to LSC.
 
I would also say look at The University of Nevada, Reno. Good skiing group, the campus is beautiful, and were like 45 - an hour away from a few good resorts.
 
SNC. 10 resorts within a hour. including:

Squaw: 20 minutes

Alpine :17 minutes

Diamond peak: 2 minutes (can walk too from campus)

Mt. Rose: 10 minutes.

Northstar : 25 minutes

Sierra-at-Tahoe: 25 minutes.

Kirkwood: 45 minutes.

i rest my case.
 
Not trying to have a comp between schools, just putting in my 2cents. I go to UNR and enjoy it very much so thought I'd throw in another option to look at.
 
this is completely incorrect.

diamond peak and mount rose are both on the right track, northstar is about 20

alpine/squaw 30

heavenly about 40

homewood - 40

sierra - 70

kirkwood - 90

and this is all if the weather is good
 
id say kirkwood is only about 60 and heavenly is about 30 but other wise on target. and snc is fairly close to reno, one of my friends dads is a professor up there and he says with no traffic and clear roads he can be in his parking spot in about 35 min from south reno
 
I graduated from snc and have since worked for major ski areas and hotels/time share companies in the area and now own a home and live happily in the basin. SNC works.
 
In the process of making the switch fron UNR to SNC,

Great Friends at both,

UNR has a better campus facilities (recognition when looking for a job maybe?) etc.

SNC is in Incline and if you dont have a shortage of friends there its definitely not boring, the closer to the lake the better,

UNR is cheaper by ALOT without scholarships.
