SIA AND OPEN STUPIDITY

Is it just me or does anyone else think that it is complete and utter stupidity that the SIA and the US Open are going on at the same time this year. They are both pretty big deals within the sport. I would of figured they would have scheduled the open a few weeks after SIA. That way companies and athletes can make both. Anyone agree?

 
I do , I think that the open should be sometime in feb anyway so all the crew can have more time to get ready for this event, after all it the biggest in the world for newschoolers just gettin to be known.

 
also, the sia has very little to do with freeskiing in the big picture. it's about selling gear to stores, not having a little newschool party. in other words, while the open is for riders, the sia is for reps and buyers.

still, the companies that make the stuff we as skiers wear will be unveiling their new gear for the upcoming year. In years past years tons of riders were present at the show. Also the core rider based companies like 4frnt and armada will not have their people at the open this year. Where they would be there in years past.I just think it very bad planning on part of the Opens committee.

 
it is kind of a bummer, but I wouldn't go to either so I don't really care

Yea kinda sucks for riders in the open!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

the open ends on sunday and the show starts on monday...whats the problem?

yeah it's definately not as poorly planned as last year. sia and the x-games overlapped completely. this year at least you can make it to the open, sia, and x-games if you really try and don't mind the travel. i'm doing 2 out of the 3.
