Showdown building a real park

it has been confirmed that showdown will build a park this year. today i called showdown and they said they purchased a new snow cat and hired hired 3 guys from california to design and build it. they also said that they might purchase a pipe dragon.

In other showdown news sean lawrence and drew savage drove up to showdown on sunday and drove to the top. they reported 6 inches on the front side and 8 on the back. they set up a kicker and a rail and sean snowboarded down to the bottom he reported 'hitting a lot of rocks'

i want a park to ski... i went to big sky last winter and their park was pretty lame. the pipe had a big snow drift in it and the jumps were pretty dumb.

Around here does everyone plan on a time to meet and session? It doesn't sound like everybody knows each other. It's always cool to ride together and push each other...you know. I can't wait for the f'in snow to fall.

ya, the guys that are going to build the park are from snow summit and they are coming up in october to start planning the park, they are also going to have a meeting to help plan it. If all goes well they should start pushing snow before the season starts

sounds sick, is there a town near by with some tenative lodging? probably going to have to take a trip that way

theres neihart which is about 8 miles away that has a small motel and white sulphur spring that is about 30 miles that has about 4 motels check out the lodging section of www.showdownmontana.com for more info

all i have to say about the lodging there it sucks balls but it was the funnest race i have ever been too in niehart there are no phones in the rooms or wait is that the other place we stayed then there are the other places yup its a great time such an awesome place

in white sulphur there is the hot springs hotel it is like 35 a night and they have phones and a hotspring pool

the 3 guys will be here sometime around the 15th of october to start mapping it out and hopefully working on rails if showdown lets them build more. as of right now they have a snail rail, an s rail, a 30 foot straight, a 10 foot straight, a stepdown and a few more

SHOWDOWN SKI AREA, NEIHART, MONTANA

Showdown gleefully announces that the second snowfall of the season has produced 4'on the ground by 12:00 pm on Friday, September 12, 2003. 'We knew something was up when we passed a snowplow on the way to work this morning', said Chris Leatham, one of Showdown's Snow Sports Coordinators.

The storm, which started in earnest about 6 am, appeared to be intensifying at midday. George Willett summed up the sentiment on the hill saying, 'We can only hope...' Live pictures of the snowfall can be seen at www.showdownmontana.com.

on saturday they had a planning meeting. by the end of the season they will have a rail line, a jump line, and a beginner line that will go from where the park started last year to near the bottom of the lift

this is straight off showdowns website about the park:

Hey, everyone! You've all been wondering about this year's terrain park--well, here's the official word.

We've been piling the snow and starting to get things ready to go, but we still need a bit more snow before we can actually start building the features. And that means that when you come up this weekend, we ned to ask you to please, please, PLEASE stay off those snow-piles that we've been building--We'll be able to make them into full-fledged features a lot faster if they don't get skiied down faster than we can build them up.

But rest @$$ured--we HAVE A PLAN for the park, and it will be great. We just need a little more snow first.
