I used to have this sick terrarium that I made out of an old beer growler that I put a Cape Sundew in. it's a carnivorous plant that requires high humidity. Super fun project--just put some gravel on the bottom, for drainage, some filtering mulch, then some top soil/growing medium. it's kinda tricky to get it all in there then actually plant the plants, but it's not too difficult.

I started off with one plant in a cracked tupperware and it started dividing like crazy so I spread em all out in the growler so there was a vicious carnivorous forest. they weren't big enough to eat bugs yet though. then my fucking roommate screwed the cap all the way down (have to leave it on, but not screwed down, to create humidity) and they suffocated and died in 2 days

well, all my veggies start out as house plants, so here's my summer herb/veggie garden we grow about 10 types or so of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, scallions, garlic, leeks, zucchini, basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary, rhubarb, swiss chard, peppers, etc.

i also use the fiddle heads from the ferns.

then we have random house plants like african violets, spider plants and other things... and we're growing some orange and avocado trees inside.

Anyone in Seattle area hitting up the NorthWest Flower and Garden Show? I went this afternoon, ton of cool booths, vendors, products, and pretty sweet selection of plant vendors as well.

I'm working most likely the next few days but will try and get there Sunday again.

Picked up a sweet Vietnamese orchid, Coelogyne mooreana, today.

2 recent plants I've grown that are pretty cool.

grew a bunch of Mimosa's. They're a touch sensitive plant (usually is better than this but it was a chilly morning and they seem to be significantly less sensitive when it's cool out):

and also grew some coffee plants. They were a bitch to start. ~60 day germination needing to keep them at the right temperature and humidity without having the seeds rot. 7/10 were successful. They're still small right now:

I came across some what I thought to be Wild Parsnip last fall, so at the advice of a family member I collected some seeds from it and then planted them this spring. Later did I find out having came across the patch that I originally got the seed from the next spring I found that the flowers were white. Which means it was not parsnip but rather its evil cousin Hemlock. Yeah I almost died.

That's my plant story.
