i heard some roaming around my school that there was a big air this Saturday? but it was from a snowboarder... so im thinking its a snowboard only comp?

whats the deal?

ya theres is a big air and no its not for just snowboarders. Its pretty sweet. they build a kicker just for it on a headwall somewhere, usually it is on the waterfall. its usually around 30-35 feet maybe. the judges are riders from showdown usually the park crew. it is a fun time music and all. payout is almost 100% if i counted right. 5 bucks to enter usually. u need a helmet. i think thats all lol. i wont be there cause of soccer. but its a fun time GO TO IT!!!

word!!! its the best jump showdown builds, and they have it up once a year and you have to pay to hit it...

anyone who is interested should come its a totaly chill competitoin and it is really fun, ill be there doin my 360's and 540's. hahaha.. ill be in a brow/green kinda jacket with armada AR5's so if anyone comes and does it hollar at me.

about 2 hours, going straight north past bridger. Hm maybe if i can get off work. Tough choice, hit a 35ft jump or make 100+ bucks working...

Usualy the Showdown big air is a very fun event, Showdown is a little unpredictable though. Chances are it will be a nice mid sized jump with a landing so long that it would be nearly impossible to overjump. Howevwer, if the snow is slow that day it will be hard to hit the jump. I wish I could make it but I have a soccer game :(

Here is me doing a 180 at last year's big air.

this years setup should be almost the same

i heard that it was a good time even though hardly anyone was there. They will have another one tomorow (sunday) if anyone is interested.

Here are some pics I stole off of Kyle Stanley's Myspace;

Andy about to eat it:

The moral of the story: come compete tomorow, there will be alot more kids there due to know soccer games!

saturday was so much more fun than sunday.. but both days were pretty cool.. pat threw a nice smooth 9 and some sick 7's. and this one snowboarder (ryan rivers) threw a few 9's and i think almost did a 10 i think... i will make a lil video of both days, dont hold your breath though may be a while.

Basically did, it didnt lack progression though; the 2 kids that threw 900s both stomped them on their first time ever trying them. Showdown kids dont have much opportunity to hit good jumps except for when they have the big air so it is more like a fun time to hit a decent jump than a comp.

Sounds chill. We had such a great jam session after the H-town shootout slope comp, just on this one jump and everyone was throwing down.
