Show and Prove Review

I just watched show and prove and its pretty good but tanner hall really needs to get back to his black heritage. it has like 3 reggae songs and no thug beatz or killing (white) people or fat bluntz or anything cool. The skiing is really sick but the movie is really wierd. its like a story line and there arent like individual parts. The thing i dont like is that it has really gay narration with lines such as "a jungle of concrete, metal and snow." like whhhaaaaaat and there arent enough shots of vanular, raineville, and the petits. personally i think it was worth buying for me but its very different from tanners previous films and maybe a better movie to borrow than buy. it has a lot of cool shots but not like sections that you watch and want to go sell crack and hit bc booters. any thoughts?

your an idiot.

show and prove is such an amazing step up from tanners last couple films. dubski was sick but i wasnt to stoked on last years film. The editing is great. I like watching segments which are based on location or storm istead of person by person. The retallack segment is amazing, there is finally a movie where seths skiing is remenicent of his MSP days. Tanner is insane. CR's recovery is well documented, and miraculous. Yes it would be nicer is vanular, kye, rainville, and anthony had longer segments. but over all the movie nothing like last years film and it is amazing.

It was ok, certainly refreshing to see someone trying to do something different, the documentary stuff was done well.

Anyone else get bugged by how bad Kye Petersen was? He didn't land anything without flailing his arms around and had to force himself round for nearly all his spins.

I diagree, there are some sweet parts in the movie, ie:

-at about 30 min or so into the movie (when it says it's Feb and the pressure of the xgames is off) there are the sweetest BC hits with tanner, key, and Anthony.

-Seth's segment with tanner in Alaska is great. Seth has one of his best segmens in years.

-the urban is great(diff angles and attempts of vanular rail transfer)and more

-And Ohhhh so sweet pow sking.

After watching it the first time I was not feeling all warm and fuzzy, but after watching it again and again it keeps getting better. I would seriously say one of me favorite movies in years. (totally not what I expected from Tanner and his previous movies.)

I'm seconding on the Idea of the movie. Basicly the tho elements that makes it unique is the storyteller and... the silence. It feels awesome with some silence from time to time. Makes you focus.

However there were 3 pretty huge drawbacks.

First of all as someone said, The other guys beside Tanner has WAY too little skiing.

Second: two words: repetative tricks.

Third: I don't care if one guy here wants more reggae, I want that shit out.

Other than that I liked the Idea. And it's not a sob-story imo.

As always, take the subjectiveness into account. Taste is like the ass - divided and sometimes shitty.

i just watched it.. i didnt think it was terrible but it wasnt great either. its not worth paying money for in anycase

watch it a couple more times and tell me what you think, I'm just curious. Also this movie may not appeal to the typical east coast park rat.

i loved this movie. i liked the fact that people didnt have parts though.. instead of the skier's having segments it more like location segments.

first time watching it i didn't like it much atall, but i agree if you watch it a couple more times it grows on you.

Tanners nollie 180 is sick. Probably the best part in the whole movie is just after the X-games stuf, from there on i love it.

the riding was amazing, the nollie 180 was ridiculous but i didnt realllyyy like the format all that much, but who knows maybe it will grow on me.

I didn't like it at first in fact I wanted to watch another ski movie and took it out...but after going to the premiere in Park City and watching it a couple times after that it is a sick movie and well put together CP is dope and did a good job with everything.

i thought it was pretty good, much much better than pyb.

i liked the idea for the format but it felt a little to drawn out to me and a few to many up close pow shots. but i did enjoy it. Keep in mind its not your "lets get pumped to ski kind of movie," it is more of a "im to high to move from the couch so lets watch a ski movie kind of movie."

i liked but i thought it would b a movie not a biograghy on tanner hall... hahahahaha its all on t-hall... i hope next years will b better

if you watch the movie twice youll notice thats the only hit in the whole film off a jump or drop or anything air related that he lands switch on

this movie had some good shots & some of the songs were pretty good, but over all it just sucked... definitely not a movie to watch before you go ski, it will just bring you down... not a movie to buy if you want to watch skiing & get stoked on

so im getting the feeling this is more of a ski movie, and less of a ski video... sounds fun and i cant wait to get my copy and chill out and blaze while watching it

yeah pretty much... not something you would want to watch over and over... more like once a month or just skip all the stupid shit and watch the 2 or 3 actually skiing parts

^i have found that the more times i watch it the more i come to like it... I mean it is kinda wierd but it grew on me

I thought this movie was sick. Definately worth buying. I agree that there wasnt nearly enough vanular, or the pettits, but that wasnt really the story line of the movie. It was (and correct me if Im wrong) mostly about Tanners season and CR's recovery. The powder shots were unreal, and I usually hate watching pow. Seth was the icing on the cake, his BC backs and fronts were so ligit. The music I thought was a nice change from tanners usual ghetto style. The ending was great too... TO BE CONTINUED.

Don't buy it just for Seth, while he has a fair amount of shots, 90% are close up shots in powder in the trees (good shots though) there is only one big front and one big back flip in Bella Coola because they got stormed out 13/14 days on the trip. So there is one day worth of footage (two big jumps, 3 or 4 lines). It is good stuff don't get me wrong but if you are expecting a Ski Movie 3/Focused type segment, forget about it.

Seth is in TGR's Anomaly, haven't seen it yet though.

well i jst bought and watched it i really liked it

I think the music was so mellow and not rap at the beg beause the mood was low and stuff then it picked up when the Turbulance came in and shit..

PS that massive attack "Teardrops" song or what ever was nuttttsss
