so yeah i get this video at my local shop and the kid working there is like yo check this vid out it is sick. and i was like well i mean all the other tanner hall videos sucked and he was like no man trust me this shit is hot. so i spent 20 bucks on it and raced home. well all i can say is this is by far the worst movie i have ever seen. its basically a love story about tanner hall and cr johnson and they dub over tannners season with the lamest voice overs i have ever heard. im sure u kids know how lame msp voice overs can get, well basically multiply that by 5 and u get show and prove. for example: " the dark cloud had finally lifted, and tanner could ski again..... tanner and friends headed to hit some rails in the cold artic tundra of europe. it just goes on and on. there is even some random shots of tanner hall eating cereal and going to bed. Perhaps the lamest part of the movie was when tanner is hitting this massive hip and it keeps flashing cr's face and crs dad stroking crs arm and crying.

only buy this movie if u are in love with tanner hall and think he is the greatest thing to happen to skiing, also buy this movie if u dont really care about anyother riders skiing and you really like to see cr rehabing. ull luv it. three minutes of good and 50 minutes of crap. its so worth the money
 
reviews are always productive and appreciated, but sometimes they can also point out kids who think they run shiiit.
 
well i disagree, i loved this movie!!!

yeah the nararator talking just sucked, they shouldnt have put that in there. but i thought it was soooo cool how they put it all together, you can just tell that a shitload of work went into it and that they really care about it. the skiing was awsome, tanner does such sick stuff, so does everyone else.

this is pretty much the first movie of its kind, its not like warren miller, the filming and the way its all put together was cool, i loved the way they did the segments, and pretty much every song fit really well.

its the type of movie you have to be awake to watch, you need to be ready to sit through a long ski movie, and watch some boring stuff, but when your done then you realise how sweet the movie is.

i definatly think they have the right idea, they definatly could improve alot, but you cant expect a movie to be perfect when nobody has tried it that way.

next year they should focus on just a tiny tiny bit of talking, interviews and stuff might be cool, or just following the atheletes around with them talking about stuff instead of a narartor. if the took like 10 or 15 minuites of some of the artsy footage, less sadness and more happiness, the songs were perfect, and stuff out it would have been much better.

i definatly think they should continue to do movies like this, they could only improve, ive seen skimatic and ski porn and this easily beats those, i just love the idea and the feeling you get after you watch the movie.
 
oh yeah and im sorry, but skogan shouldnt have been in that movie, he is awsome and all, but he did nothing special, it just showed him skiing pow like everyone else, no big lines or anything either.
 
tron was out this season... i saw a news report about him, he got attacked by The Method Man. he said "He put my balls on the dresser, just my balls. Then He hit em' with a spiked bat." also the news report talked about how Method Man took a coat hanger and put it on the stove for like 40 minutes. Then he stuck it in Tron's ass really slow. Sssssssssss.
 
WEll, it sounds they they pretty much did what the wanted with this movie. I was at Squaw in Contstantine( he was the filmer) said that he wanted to make a ski movie more like a movie. They want something more than just raw skiing so that they can bring in viewers that wouldnt usually watch a ski movie. That crew is cool and all, but Id rather watch something that has skiing in , not everything else. If I want a bunch of shit id watch warren miller of Msp.
 
i mean they could have made the movie really sick if they kept to rider segments and lost all of the voice overs and emo cr johnson love shots. this movie just gives a bad rep to skiers

Finally a ski film that isn't like every other one with a bunch of continious ski porn and rider only segments. Tanner just keeps pushing the envelope...

yeah they do show tanner eating cereal and they also show him watching tv, and he looks all sad and then he turns the tv off and goes to bed and the lame voice over dude is like wow what a shitty ending and then they show cr grabbing shit out of his car and thats the new and and improved ending.

"one love" i hate gettin personal, but since i completely disagree with you i have no other choice. basically your going straight to hell... soon. this is because of your fucked up attitude about someone who is near death and somehow reguardless of them not being a little 12 year old who can bounce back in ten seconds does it any fuckin way, alright second this movie has ill shots and tons of them and actually for once in freeskiing a movie is made by a skier that is actually marketed to a broader spectrum of society which in turn will make our sport bigger. so with those two concise points im gonna sum up that you "one love" are probably gonna get all fucked up final destination style cause people with as much disreguard for the well being of others do not belong here.
 
yea dont judge the movie based on this thread. Everyone said wsk106 was horrible and I thought it was good
 
what if "skiers" already have a bad "rep"... I am very excited to see this film. CP made the film this way to try and show you what these people are really like. Not how gangster they can act.

This movie was made unlike any other it is worth your time to take a look.
 
I have to agree with stefan on the movie critque. Show and Prove is a ski movie you could show to someone who doesn't ski (or atleast do the type of skiing that 90% of this site does), like say your parents, and they would be stoked on it. It has lots of actual skiing, which is a good thing; and the level of riding is still rediculously high, look at the cast: tanner, cr before being hurt, seth, and it goes on and on. I wanted to go skiing after watching it, and if you don't you probably need to try and do some more actual turning this winter.
 
I saw about 5 minutes of this at Helly Hansen, and i thought it looked sweet. Tony's shit was off the hook.
 
uhh for a kid whos name is "one love" you sure do like to hate... you have to expect this from a bigger picture movie, it's there thing, if its not yours, dont buy the movies, but dont rip it and talk shit if you just didng like it, that's just childish and gay. respect, and get respect.

i would have rather watched mind the addiction, oprah, or possibly even sbb.

no do judge the movie off this thread. theres a few sick urban shots and a few other tight shots but nothing u wont find in another movie without 30minutes of random footage

and i said to myself i wouldnt judge it based off this thread for tha reason, but man i wish i had, it was so bad i thought it was a joke and at any minute the real mvoie would start. only one thug song and its the one from the trailer
 
are you kidding me? a few good shots? there wasnt one shot that was bad in the whole movie, all the bc jumps were amazing, and tanner and everyone throwing every trick there is off random stuff in the trees, you cant find anything even close in other movies, it beats the hell out of ski porn, mahre's segment was the best ever though.

and the way they did the movie was so awesome, how its kinda like a story/movie about skiing, i do think they could have cut down on some of that extra footage, but this is the only movie where i actually liked all the extra stuff.

mabye you dont get it, this isnt supposed to be just a ski movie with only skiing like every other movie, its a documentary of the ski season, but instead of some warren miller film, there is only cool skiing, no tele, racing, no shitty old men skiing, its all tanner and the best skiers ever the whole time, the filming is much better than warren miller or anything else, the editing and stuff is way better, everything is soooo much better.

this movie is the first one ive seen thats actually original, its not exactly a documentary, and its definatly not another unorigional ski movie.

and is that a bad thing? mabye thats why you hated the movie so much, its not shitty rap with gay gangster skiing the whole time, its actually a quality movie.
