Shoulder troubles

my left shoulder will not stay in its socket and comes out every time i ski. i was just wondering if anyone has ever faced this dilema, and how do you cope with it. so much of skiing is confidence and my shoulde is making me a pussy ass puss puffer.

my right shoulder is wrecked, it pops and makes funny noises, plus I can't do incline press anymore and a few shoulder exercises. If I ever land backseat off a cliff or whatever and my shoulders drag in the snow it hurts so fucking bad, but it's taught me never to crash, sup now?

We pay our debt sometimes.

crashing is an enevitable part of progression. if i want to learn a new trick, my shoulder always comes back. should i just say fuck it?

Yeah, I mean if theres no danger of doing serious internal injuries, just fuck it and deal with it. Or, see a physcial therapist

We pay our debt sometimes.

Yeah I feel ya, ohh well I'm gonna use that arm peddler machine at the gym this summer and hopefully get it back up to strength

We pay our debt sometimes.

i dislocated my left shoulder for the 5th and 6th times on thursday a couple weeks ago. pretty much it always hurts and pops now, but i guess you just gotta deal with it. it's really loose now anyways so it's not like i'm gonna be able to keep it from coming out if i take a weird fall.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

i dislocated my shoulder probably 15times then the doctors said i needed surgery. It makes it feel about a thousand times better getting surgery so look into it. If your around Connecticut see if you can see the doctor Chris Leana, He is the best shoulder surgeon on the east.

yeah, one of my buddies on my baseball team had that happen to him all the time. he originally hurt it crashing his 4-wheeler. then once he dislocated it taking a practice swing in the on-deck circle. i think it was later that year, or the next year that he went to hop a fence and it dislocated as he put his weight on it. needless to say he ate it pretty hard on the fence and we had to put it back for him on the spot.

oh yeah, and my baseball coach at the time blamed me for it because i was the one who had hit it over the fence. fucking jackass.

anyways, he had surgery this last year so hopefully for him he'll be alright and it wont do that shit anymore.

'I'd rather be skiing' - My mindset 24/7

don't be retarded- OBVIOUSLY go to physio- you have to strengthen the muscles around your shoulder so it will help keep it in place. you may also need to tape that, cause you're shoulders are NOT something you want to be messing with, especially if you are young because this could become a chronic problem for you.

I broke my shoulder in the summer and things would be so much worse for me if I haven't been working to strengthen it every day.

ice-is-scary, having had (and still having) shoulder problems, you definitely want to go to the doctor. There are many possibilities for your problem, though my experiences are similiar.

You may have tendonitis, or your shoulder may be loose in the socket. This could require an injection, rest/advil, physical therapy, or a combination. In some cases, surgery is needed.

Since you mentioned incline presses and shoulder exercises/lifts - it is important to realize that the type of problems you may have might require you to do exercises that stress the muscle in ways typical gym exercises don't. Things like shoulder presses, side raises, arnold presses, etc. mostly deal with the deltoid muscle group, whereas shoulder problems could easily involve different muscles not worked by that type of exercise.

i have a friend who's shoulder always pops out. he wraps an ace bandage around his arm so he can't raise it if he falls, but he will prob get surgery this summer.

you can't...when mine was at its worst i dislocated it throwing a frisbee...get the surgery and give it like 5-6 months of physio before you start getting stupid with it

I just got surgery on my left shoulder. It helped sooo much. physio sucks, but at least I will be all better soon.

yeah, I seperated my shoudler amount a month and a half ago and it still hurts, physio helps a lot. I can't injure myself either or I am out of work this summer.

when your young getting hurt doesnt matter but when your in your 20's and the only thing you do is work then getting hurt is the last thing you want happening to you

Yeah my left shoulder has also been messed up for a few days now. It'll be fine skiing, then all of a sudden it would be unbearable sharp pains. So as of right now I'm taking a really long break from skiing... which sucks horribly.

i did mine in about 2 months ago, best thing to do for it, is too let it rest. after a couple weeks start getting range of motion back. Condition it furthur with LIGHT weights, like 10-15 pounds, slowly you will get back to top form, then itll rock.
