i think it would be cool if we could get out of iraq but if we do there just going to kill eachother.

then every one would be like o my god the usa just went in there and blew up there country then left

I think that we should but we aren't going to, so they need to re-evaluate how we're doing things, because it doesnt seem like anything is actually being accomplished, the number of troops is off in different areas, and we've forgotten that the plan was to find osama.

the plan of the war in afghanistan was to find osama, buddy, the goal of the iraq war was to overthrow saddam and establish a new regime in iraq, which seems to be working

It was to catch Osama and take care of Al Queda. We did take care of Al Queda, but we've yet to find Osama, and instead of putting our main effort into that, we've wandered off into Iraq, which may not be a problem, as we've gotten sadam, but I'm just saying that I feel that they should be projecting their efforts more towards osama, as that was the point of going to war in the first place.

the liberal midea definitely puts a terrible light on the whole situation. regardless, i think we've long needed to pull out of iraq. it's a little more personal for me since someone in my pastor's sons troop was blow to pieces by are garbage can bomb. and the pastors daughter, who i'm good friends with, is scared shitless because it could have very well been her brother.

i was all for the war in the begining, but to many young americans have died for my liking.

nope see.. the war in afganisatan is still going on.. u don't don't hear about it on the news because we aren't making any negative progress so.. the news can't report that..... that wouldn't be a good story now would it... it would be better if we totaly fucked up.. then it would be on the news.....but since the media never shows any progress in the war in afganistan people think it is over... but no... shit is still going on there... mostly the special forces and rangers tho... not to many normal infantry...

I say, regardless of whether we should have been there in the first place, pulling out support at this point would be irresponsible. We started the whole shibangabang and we need to stick to it until the Iraqi government and military are self-sustaining. I feel that people who say "Bring Our Troops Home NOw" are failing to think of the lives that would be totally ruined because we came in, tossed everything up in the air, and just let it fall to the ground.

The war in Afghanistan

My first point i need to say is we, as the people of the United States of America, and the world, do NOT have access to all the intelligence, say, the president, or his staff have access to. Do you understand what i mean? This means that some of the goals of the wars ARE blind to us, because its done so to protect us, the troops figthing, aby disguisin our goals so that the ennemy has a hard time defending.

The goal of the war in afgh. was to root out the Taliban, Osama Ben Laden, and in the end, fuck over Al Quaeda. But here's the issue i do not believe we realized - Al Quaeda is MUCH more extensive than ouy wildest imagination. Osam has already implanted his radical ideas within the muslim Community. So, at this point, our troops in Afg. are really there to peacekeep, NATO style (since the UN won't), as well as border patrol, and root out what known ennemies there are, while still trying to track Osama

Remember back in the like, 90s, when the media came out and said we were on Osama's trail? remember how, right after that we lost him? Wonder why? THEY FUCKING WATCH THE MEDIA! THEY USE IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE. One of the reasons that we dont see much about Afg. is because the military is trying to keep it under wraps to carry out their goals.

OKay, yes, we've fucked up. Well, dubbya and his intelligence. We were told that we were going in to get rid of WMD's. And look, we haven't found jack shit. HOWEVER, we have shared the wonderful gift of Democracy, and freedom, to a people that has been oppressed for decades. I know all of you, before the "2nd Gulf War", had thought at some point, "damn, taht saddam is a dick shit, they shoulda fucked him in the kuwaiti war!" or soemthing along those lines. Yes, were losing men and women, who are dying for their country. Hell, earth has been shaped by wars: we are what we are thanks to decades, centuries of conflicts.

How else should I get my facts? Besides the media. I'm not in a military family, I know nobody over there. I take what I learn in classes and I hear on the news and I assume that that's moderately correct.

I think that He had meant the American Media, not just the Media. Get your facts by reading news reports from other countries. See how they diffre from what the news reports in your contry say. And also always watch for contridictions and inconsistancies within your own media.

Another very good way to get your information is to read books about recent history.

A great website which I have come across is www.fromthewilderness.com. It has a very liberal point of view, but makes intelegent arguments and backs them up with proof, like sites such as www.prisionplanet.com. but FTW is alot better orginized and run.

i read in the paper the other day that they finally found a small lab, that was aimed at producing chemical weapons (WMDs). the kicker is that its new, and was put together by insurgents reacting to the U.S. occupation. by gionng into iraw, the U.S. has caused the creation of the exact thing that they claimed they were destroying.
