Should we make fun of pros on skis < 170cm regardless of their size

professional skiboarding is pretty core to NS but I agree it is kinda wack to see those guys in comps with regular skiers

This thread made me realize almost every pro that rides head skis keep em too short. I think if Petter Ulsletten and Emile rocked longer skis they would look so dope. Jasper idk tho its kind of his style

A little insight for you guys, there are a lot of guys on the pro circuit skiing skis 10cm shorter than what you would think they would be on. Growing up in summit county, you would be bullied if your skis were noticeably shorter than you so I figured that was an unwritten rule of skiing. I remember being at World Cups and seeing people close to a foot taller than me using skis that were the same size as mine and feeling like they were cheating. IMO I think it's wack if you are a pro skier and you choose to ski smaller skis cause its "easier" to do tricks on them.

And FYI spagettli uses a ski a foot shorter than himself (in reference to an earlier post). And a different person already mentioned uses kids skis with special adult graphics printed on them¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Certainly a negative post for me so I'll end it on a positive note. Henrik is about as tall as me. I remember putting my skis next to his on a ski rack and feeling like a little boy. The mans has to be skiing a 185 or so (I ski a 175). Henrik isn't only filming the best segments/movies WHILE ALSO winning the biggest contests, but he is doing it in the truest form. Bigger skis are a serious weapon once you learn how to use them. Nothing but respect for Henrik.

Let me point out that there is a shortage of taller skis for taller skiers. What I'm pointing out is a frustration towards people who are in pro contests and skiing a smaller ski than whats offered by their sponsor because it's "easier".

Hell yeah! Henrik is an animal for real. Long skis truck, short skis suck

Basically the same picture.

ABM skis on short skis while he used to ski on longer skis a couple years ago. Pretty weird as he's not much of a spin to win guy and people in Quebec tend to ride longer skis

I'm no pro, but I'm only 157cm tall. My shortest ski (for Backcountry) is 163cm and my longest (for powder) is 174cm.

I find I can't handle any longer than that though. Especially since skis the past few years have developed longer effective edges while maintaining the same rocker profile.

is it Jesper, Emile?? Prolly jesper.. minus points in realski for that

Emile rides 181, and the only other option is 176 for head caddy. the 176 is actually a 171, and the 181 is actually 176. weird as shit but I owned a pair awhile ago

But I'm actually kinda impressed by guys who send on tiny skis. Being used to skis in the 185-190 range, I'm terrified when I get on 180 centre mounted park skis. I'm 5'8", HUGE COCK

If i ride less than 170 cm my dick starts slamming into the trees. I need a good 180+ for proper manspacing

Think of how suicidal the 9 people who downvoted this will be when they figure out they are as sad as i tell them they are kek

You and Henrik are legends.

Also, this is why I’m pro bullying.

i'd personally love to see more companies making like 186-190 park skis, i'm 6'1 and ski a 184 arv96 ti because it is the biggest available, it'd be sweet to have a 188 or 190 in that ski.

I think 184 with no rocker and full camber is enough ski for you at 6 foot 1.

if the ski was rockered u could go bigger. Ive got 180 kinks and they feel plenty long for me im 6 foot 1 too

i don't know dude, i had a pair of 182 punx (the full camper stiff as shit ones) and because they were centre they felt soo short. Honestly, it depends hugely about where you ski, if you're just getting hotlaps on a midwest park its probably fine, I live in Tignes where there is 2000m of vert and we have some good sized jumps, definitely makes a difference having those extra 4-6cm
