Should we bring back the Hellbents?

Found out about this company,https://heritagelabskis.com and listened to his interview on blister. He contacted ski factories and placed orders for skis that people love but companies no longer make. NS could do the same thing for the Hellbents or other beloved now gone skis. If we get enough people in we could place an order at one of these factories.

Hellbents are stupid, but we love them for that reason. I still have a mint pair that maybe only get 2-3 days a year, but they are a blast. I wonder how any pre-orders it would take to have them built?

Talked to never summer a few years ago and for their molds I think they said 10-15 pairs. Best bet would be to find k2's factory in china. Spent some time looking for it no luck yet.

Hellbents were my daily driver for a few years. The 189 probably the only ski you can do this with the effective edge is so short.

Key takeaways:

I got way better at skiing switch. Hard to understate this point.

In powder they are so maneuverable it’s not even funny.

Can’t cheat with weight transfers between carves and body position with a ski that heavy. But then going back to a normal ski you fucking suck because you’ve been cheating the whole time with the center mount.

Going to feel like you’re about to die on ice and you’re not wrong, you might be about to die.

Wind up like you’re doing a 1080 to whip a 3 around in the park. Then realize that’s stupid and only do 180s no matter what

Oh also just buy the Pettitor it’s snappier lighter and has taper

Your best bet is to go through gp87 and make skis at their factory. You would be shocked when you see what brands they manufacture...

looked at them yesterday

We still have the molds and there was talk a year or so ago to make some more. Maybe be vocal on socials that we should make them again ?‍♂️

Some dude was selling some mint mounted once hellbents for 150. I was about to pick them up then he stopped responding. Haven’t seen em around me since

Seriously i don't understand why people said the need stiff ski for hard charging, the hellbent is very soft while you can charge hard in variable snow conditions, ski fast and stomp big landing.

If these molds are stateside I'm going to be so annoying until I can get a press set up

Honestly I dream of one, just one, waist deep pow day where I could alternate laps between the Pontoons and the Hellbents

I just saw a dude riding a mint set of OG Pontoons at Breck last weekend, and it was pretty nostalgic. I've never had a chance to get a full day on a pair, but I just picture all the old McConkey edits when he was riding 'toons.

Bring the bents back. Also bring the OG Shredditors back as a lot of you have said. I'll add the 2005 Seth Pistols to this list. The yellow 179s were 95 underfoot. Funny that old school pow sticks are now what you would ride in the park

To be fair, Abma (and I think a few other K2 guys) were using Seth Pistols in the park when they came out.

I absolutely would LOVE a re run of the Hellbent. I have considered on multiple occasions purchasing one of the few remaining pairs that are still circulating for way above the original price. It's a shame big flappy skis like these were only made at a time in my life when I couldn't afford to have more than one ski in my quiver... And they must have graphics in the same spirit if they return. MUST. but no die cut bases, just printed only K?

Wonder how popular a "mega wide" from vishnu would be.

130 width and shaped after the hellbent, with a similar topsheet style. I would buy it.
