Should I Switch to Telemarking?

its wayy fun but you have to be in good shape, your legs get sore if you are doing good, quality shit all day

you dont have to tele turn all day either. i save my energy for tele turns when it counts, off groomers and outside the park. not to say that i dont occasionaly drop the knee for steeze

why would you totally switch over to telemarking, just do all types of skiing. you dont have to quit one style to take up another

true nosepresses and nose butters will never be possible on teles. Big switch landings in powder are probably possible, but not very feasible. Anything else is possible. This is not to say that people can't do some weird knee presses and butters, but a traditional press is just not possible.

check out adkfreeskier's pics. He's a ski patroler at my mountain and is sick on them. heres one of his pics on tele's.....

Why? Theres no point to Tele'in besides being different. There are no advantages. Get AT bindings if you BC. I would say no, theres no need

I started freeheelin it like last year sometime, didnt try a day on alpine since, then tried alpine 3 weeks ago and was really disappointed, just not as fun compared to tele. A previous poster is right, the free heel is way more comfy but thats not whats great about tele, its the awesomeness of the turns. I would never want to ski powder again on alpine (maybe just like once to try a nose butter in powder) but my god those turns make you get so much more into it. And that hippie shit isnt true at all, many tele'ers now are tryin to look or look as gangstaz as many alpine skiers out there.

Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Tele'in is based around the ability to lift your heel and do tele turns. Yeah we dont do that in the park but who the fuck carves in the park. Being different is what id do if I lived in your homo ass town but where I live there are plenty of tele skiers

if you're on the east coast, check out pico,vt next year cause they do free tele demo days with cheap lessons. try that first and then go from there
