Should I start snowboarding?

I've thought about dabbling in snowboarding but any time I have the opportunity to I don't do it. Too much invested in skiing, I feel like I would get frustrated not being able to do all the stuff I can on skis (rails and such).

So I wouldn't if I were you.

Me and my buddies I ride with traded gear for a couple of nights last year. Had a blast learning with everyone and fucking around. But skiing is far more fun overall

Dont snowboard please. All you will ever do is sit on ur ass and crank ur bindings.

You definitely should. I have been a skier for the last 10+ years and I began snowboarding this season. If you are already good at skiing you can learn it a lot faster then most people. It is incredibly fun. The feeling of slashing pow on a snowboard makes skiing pow on skis seem boring. It is also not as expensive to get gear for and can make a hill that used to be boring exciting again

I feel the exact same way, I just made this thread to see people's opinion on others switching over, I don't think I could ever do I though, I love skiing too much

just switched to skiing after snowboarding for 10 years and i have to say skiing is so much more enjoyable. plus you can't wear full tilts while snowboarding

I did the exact same thing I boarded from when I was 3-12 and then switched over and fell in love with skiing.

this sossosososo much

like it doesn't even have to be snowboarding. I've gotten into tele skiing this past year and it makes even the smallest hills a fucking adventure

yea, maybe because it's so different but i managed to pick up skiing pretty fast and have progressed in the park quite a bit, its just so fun learning all over again.

i'm going to change my point of view after rethinking this, you should definitely try snowboarding OP. It's so different than skiing and i'm sure you would have a similar experience i had switching from skiing to snowboarding. its fun, new and exciting. that's not to say you'll stick with snowboarding, but try it out and just have fun. and if you try it and come back to skiing, then you will know whether or not the grass is greener on the other side.

Why not give it a shot. When the park set is bad and it's not a POW!!! day I would say head out and snowboard. I will definitely make any mountain, hill or lump of snow fun again when you are just learning.

On the plus side you since you already ski you will probably figure out edge control pretty quick.

Me and my boys decided to switch gears so i tried out snowboarding for the first time its really hard no jokes, you practically only fall on your ass and I sprained my wrist!

If you try snowboarding make sure you're strong and fit coz you'll be landing on your ass a lot. you should reduce the chance of injury. I've tried it a few times and it's one of the funnest things in the world tbh. I think you should try it. Although I still prefer my sticks.

Do it. It's a ton of fun being bad at a snowsport again. Same thing for people who snowboard.

It's fun to switch it up, and suck in the park, or even at making turns.
