I was wondering what you guys thought about the spks the skis not the boot, if anyone has ever tried them post your comments and all other stuff you think is good or bad thanks

post in equipment forum, and read the sticky at the top of that page 'Before asking for advice"

For any advice to be given, people need to know what sort of skiing you do, how tall/heavy you are etc..

i can't really offer anything, i have never skied SPKs

are you on crack he didnt ask if they would be good for him he asked if other people that have ridden them liked them and if they thought they were good

so i guess im 5 foot 4 and i ski 80% park and i weight like 115 and yeah so i basically want to know if people have used those skis

if ur doing lik 90-100% park go for it freeskier says they blow fat ugly chines ho out of the park thoe i imagine they would be fine on groomed runs

I would consider them if they'd have a wood core and sidewalls, plus a few mm's added to the waist.

Like 113 - 83 - 106

instead of 113 - 79 - 106

this is dumb. the SPK is exactly the same ski as the candide/CR. therefore, its got a real fast base, its moderately stiff, and skis very well. however, the subtracked width makes it a lil less stable, and faster edge to edge.

yeah, i skied them on a demo day, and i actually liked them, normally im not a salomon fan, but i really liked the way they handled the pipe

how? I would say that a good width for park is anywhere between 78mm-85mm. All my park skis are 80mm...

pretty sure they're not the exact same ski as the candide/cr lab ski was, since those were a 79 waist, and the spk is 77, correct? also, people need to stop believing every god damned word in the freeskier gear guide as if its skiing's bible. i swear they didnt even ski half those skis, because everyone i've talked to who has skied the stuff thought entirely differently than freeskier. on the east coast the spk would make a killer all mountain/pipe ski. i'd try to avoid rails with it, since they use a thinner edge on that ski than the regular thrusters, foils, etc and salomons edges are thin to begin with.

They are a great ski. I demod them in Whistler and they were light, very quick and had lots of pop. They are great ski if your doing 90% to 100% park.
