should i buy this lens for sking pics and sports and all around pics or save for the is version

plz no haters just need opions on this lens and other suggestions of lens like this thanks no haters plz

 
I've had this for 2 months and it's great. Sharp, amazing colors. AF rips.

It's hard to recommend this lens unless we know something about your needs. It's not the fastest lens in the world so you're going to need to have sufficient light or you're really going to have to boost the ISO. This is my first and only telephoto lens and I think I definitely made the right choice. I would love to have the f/4 IS, but it's much more expensive and way out of my budget. If you've got other lenses that can do low-light work then I say go for it.
 
Sorry, didn't see the sports and skiing lens part. I've never used it for skiing but it's a great lens for outdoors/daylight sports and action. I'll post pics later if you want.
 
^ ya i was looking at that i saw the 70 200 mm f/2.8 for 1200 but i might go wit the non is f/4 because im strapped for cash a the moment or just save for the f/2.8
 
well if you're just using the lense in brighter light then stick with the F4. If you are worried about the lighting situation and plan on shooting at night without a flash then get the F2.8
