i started freeskiing this year. i have no problem doing 360 mutes, and ive just learnt how to get myself around 540. im going skiing for march break for a full week. i dont know if i should attempt a back flip. im pretty sure i could get around but i just dont know how hard it will be to land. i just want to hear some of your first backflip attemps, and what skill level you guys were at when you tried them. and any landing tips. thanx alot

Yo, fuck that shit. Learn to do spins all four ways. Flips are easy as shit.

I'm a fuckin hellhound trapped up in L-town, and after drinks and shit, I'll have your bitch spellbound.

It's confidence, you never know until you've tried.

Go try one on a powder day and see how it goes, if you are landing on your head then I suggest you don't try it in the park.

I tried flips last year and I had no skill but I was crazy and stupid. I would try lincolns over a huge table, never landed a single one but I never really got hurt trying it.

Just chuck it and see what happens.

I have the sam problem, I dont wanna land on my head, I was in a cast last year and missed a good chunk of the ski season, belive me its not worth breaking your neck or paralizing yourself when you dont have experience do it into powder or (like a Blue Mountain Ontario) there is a camp where you focus on flips and you do them into foam pits!

should i try a misty first or a backflip bc a backflip is supposed to be really easy but a misty u arnt inverted so u cant really land on ur head, i can do both really really well w/ out skis

me: pepsi twist taste the exact same as normal pepsi.

my friend: no it doesnt , it has a twist.

on my first attempt at a back i overotated, so just dont get freaked out and throw it to hard

when worst comes to worst my peoples come first

yeah my friend forgot his shovel so we built this little lip of this cornice and we where flying like 30 feet to deep pow and I pussed out going for the back....for my first invert I landed a lincon loop if u get them down on the trap there easy

Dude, I don't reccomend a misty for your first flip. Unless you are really good at spins, because there is alot going through your mind the first time you try something inverted.. and spinning with it your first time might not be the best idea.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

so here's my story about flipin'...

I tried my first backy in december, i've done them off a tramp or into a pool. I pulled it around and crashed. You won't fall on your neck if you've got a nice kicker with enough transition, just pop yourself of the lip and throw your arms with the rotation. Next day I trird my second one and it ended up in an disaster...I landed it on my skis but then (I think, can't tell) i wasn't stiff enough, so I twisted my right leg to the inside, rammed (is this word existing?) it into my basin, my thigh broke about four times because the fuckin binding didn't release...hey i can upload an x-ray if ya want to see.....i also have a video...now i've got a titanium plate in and twelve fuckin screws, and i was taken to hospital by a helicopter. So always reduce your din no matter where you're doin something new and you don't know how ya 'll land...don't make the same mistake i made!! But I'll get back on skis in maybe three weeks...(i hope)...so go out and do that shit I can't do now...

good lord slopestyler, you're hardcore! Do you actually set off metal detectors at airports and shit like on tv? I've always wondered about that. Anyway, as for the backflips, I'm hella scared to try one on snow because I've heard one too many horror stories about broken necks and now of redicoulously broken legs. I think I'm going to wait till I can try one on the water ramps this summer before I take it to snow. I think I'm going to try a lincoln though. Any advice people?

yeah maybe that works with the metal detectors but anyway it's not magnetic,I've got to give it a try because it may remain 2-3 years in me...that'll be fun gettin it out again...

Lincolnloops are easyer (or easier?) because you don't have any blind parts and so can always spot the landing. To do them approach the kicker on both of your feet, then pop of with one foot (the opposite of your spin direction) grab your knee (the one the direction you're spinning) spin it to the end and stomp it.......have phun

thanks bro, your helpfulness and more importantly lack of surliness is not often seen in new members. keep it up.

I have only tryed fronflip and misty. How should I train backflips. There isnt any powder days here and no backcountrys.

backflips are hella easy although ive never done em over a table just kcikers...crashed a few times but never underrotated, just com,mit to it and spot ur landing the whole way around

like the guy said

its all about balls

ive given it a try and didnt come anywhere close, so i stopped trying and just practice now on shit like trmaps, diving boards, beds, stuff like that.

i wanna give it another try, but living in southern ontario means if you dont stick it your in a wheelchair.

Would you guys like me better if i had huge tits? - my not so good looking friend on why hes not popular with the ladies

would it be possible for you to wait till spring when maybe the snow is a bit softer?

yea spring if u want, but this year after i landed my first lincoln, i just threw a backflip and overrotated 3 times before i stuck it, its not that hard at all once u commit, but then again i was a diver for a few years so flips arent that complicated for me

Huh?

Coitus. Sex, intercourse, the act of love.

Oh, you mean coitus?

Back flips are sooper easy....i landed my first one...just a bit back seat but whatever...it was sick..

---WHy do you think you take a Ho to a HOtel--

wait for a powder day or a spring day with slushy snow. then just huck it. after you bail trying your first one, then you get wicked pumped and will probably land it your second or third try. just commit to your spin. i also tried to concentrate on bringing my knees to my chest. if you got the balls you'll figure it out.
