Shotgun

you kill deer with slugs

i have 2 shotguns. my dad found them in my grandmas closet. i mean, they are in my house, i dont know where they are and ive never shot them. im thinking about taking one next time im bored with my friends, going out to a farm or something at night and shooting shit. probably a bad idea, and i dont know the rules on buying shells. a 12 and a 20 gauge

wisconsin you can be any age to tag along with a parent to hunt, but you have to be 14 to take the hunters saftey class, and then once you have that you can hunt anything with anything, except a handgun. You have to be 18 to buy guns and ammunition, including handguns. In other states, you have to be 21 to buy handguns

what kind of fucking deer do you hung with slugs....holyshit. I hunt Moose/Bear with slugs. 12 guage is not really that great for hunting too much. You have to be really close. Thirty odd six is a really great overall gun with the proper scope. I hunt with a bow now...it is alot harder, and you have to track the animals.

dude of course you hunt whitetailed dear with slugs? what else would you use, regular shot with cleaning every single bb out of it? bb's dont pack the punch slugs have, and slugs are way more accurate.

way better to hunt deer with a slug than any kind of shot/buckshot. More accurate and more than likely going to be a quicker/cleaner kill. A 12ga is awesome for hunting. If you had to choose to only have one firearm for all forms of hunting (bird, critters, deer, etc) a 12ga is the only way to go. It covers all of those bases.

oh man... I've been shooting since I was 6 (22s and whatnot, parental supervision), went to the trap club with my daddy and have been shooting trap and have had my hunter's license since age 13 or 14, this thread scares me. Just go with EXPERIENCED people, take that course, and go shooting with the gun BEFORE you go hunting, take it to a range, make sure it fits, because it's killer on your face and shoulder if it doesn't.

but to answer your question, LARGE birds. 20 gauge is best for quail, chucker, ect.

it's 12 that you take the class, and when you can start humting. I think it's 14 you can hunt without a parent with you. I'm pretty sure buckshot is lead to whoever asked it. steel is only for duck hunting where your not allowed to get lead into the marshes and whatnot.

^ HE's right u have to be 12 to hunt u can take hunters safety at any age i took it when i was ten u can hunt by yourself at 14 and u have to be 18 to buy any gun or ammo
