pussy. should have used a real gun if he was gonna act all tough. let's see you stand up to a 40 cal round rather than a fucking 22 or whatever that tiny ass thing was.

if that was really a 32, then I am actually kind of impressed that he stayed on his feet. Since he didn't get knocked on his ass, I assumed it was a smaller caliber round.
 
Think you've watched too many movies haha. A 32 is not gunna knock you over, but will definitely put a hole in you.
 
Not much but i can bet that i have much much more experience with guns than you, seeing as you thought that was a .22....

 
idk, you can bet all you want. just because I may not know the make a caliber of every single handgun out there on the market by no means means I've got no experience. i grew up with them and own a baby eagle 9mm, s&w 9 mm, .38 special, .357 magnum, and a glock 23, (all of which would take me off of my feet) so it's not like I've never picked up a weapon before.
 
i sorta do. I guarantee if i was shot with a .32 id go to the ground. Maybe not blown off my feet but id drop to one knee.
 
did you see how far that .32 made it into the vest? looks like he is lucky that they didn't use a larger round. looks like a 9mm might have gotten in him a bit.

Really though I don't see why any bullet would knock someone to the ground if they had an adequate vest on? Like if you actually got shot and had a big fucking hole in you're gonna drop fast and if you had a vest on and didn't expect it it might startle you or something. In this situation though any bullet shouldn't have near enough energy to knock a guy over.
 
ha, no one is worked up. i'm with El though. i'd think I'd take a knee from a 32...that welt looked gnar. i'd be interested to see the difference between that and what a 22 would do. i know a 9, 40, etc. can break ribs and still do some pretty serious damage.
 
I bet a 12g slug right to the sternum would knock you down. Im almost positive a 12g slug would knock you down. It might not pick you up off your feet but youre going back and down if youre shot with a roll of nickels
 
well when I said bullet I didn't mean a 12 gauge slug. still though I bet you could stay on your feet. At least until you probably die.
 
I actually have no idea if you would die or not. can a person take a 12 gauge slug in like an inch of vest and survive? now I am curious.
 
reallly reallly doubt you could take a 12 gauge slug even with a thicker vest. The vest might stop it from penetrating (probably only if you had a ballistic plate and a REALLY high quality vest & because of the larger surface area of the slug) but the sheer blunt force of it hitting you would be enough to cause serious internal trauma that would probably kill you.

yeah that's what I thought initially.

I guess it depends on what you mean "knock a guy down". Nothing you fire at a guy is nearly powerful enough to knock him down doing the physics. But you'd have to be pretty fucking badass to get hit by a slug and not immediately drop to the ground even if it didn't "knock you over"
 
It would be interesting, i think if that bullet hit any higher it wouldve broken ribs for sure, seemed from the welt that it was just below the rib cage.
 
I was curious too so i googled "12g slug vs bullet proof vest". The guy puts the kevlar vest on a stump and shoots it. It made a crater in the stump that was at least an inch deep. If that hit you in the heart i bet you would die. Anywhere else and its probably just broken ribs and the gnar bruising.
 
bones are also a lot tougher and can flex so they could probably disperse the energy a lot better than a stump. Either way I wouldn't want to be in the firing line of a slug (or 00 buck like the other guy posted) no matter what I was wearing. If you willingly stood in front of buckshot, even with a vest that would stop it, you are just fucking stupid.

when I said bullets though I meant like actual bullets and probably more specifically handgun cartridges. I guarantee there is something that could stop like a .45 and if It could I think you would easily stay standing. I've never shot big handguns but there is no way they are gonna hit close to as hard as a shotgun or a big rifle. Do don't get knocked over shooting a gun so why would they bullet knock over what it hit? If you shoot an animal you don't knock it over.
 
i think i need to clarify - when I originally said take him off of his feet/knock you on your ass or whatever it was, I didn't mean physically blow you off of your feet.

i meant it more as a reaction to the impact/shock of the round. I'd think that something that is strong enough to break ribs, knock the wind out of you, etc. would be enough to sit most people down for a minute.
 
They did a whole episode of mythbusters on it a while back. The end result is that for every action theirs an equal and opposite reaction. So unless the kick of the gun is sending the shooter onto his back, you should be standing still.

That said if I ever got shot there would probably be that "oh fuckkkkk fuck I'm shot God help me!!!! I don't want to die" moment and I'd probably take a knee if not completely fall over.
 
this thread sucks now. allow me to make it worse

I can't believe the government allows such idiotic people to have weapons like this, someone could have been seriously hurt. there needs to be way more regulations this is fucking ridiculous
