short poles

Long poles make you look like a gaper.

Everything that makes a 120 degree angle when you hold the basket upside down and shorter is good. Any longer for park looks bad. Powder is a different story, use the 90 degree size but not any longer.
 
when poles cost $30-60 sometimes people need to get a little longer than necessary to have room to grow into them. And not everyone skis the park.
 
Exactly, thats why I gave a separate recommendation for powder skiing. And, unless you're stupid enough to buy your poles new off the shelf, they cost anywhere from free to $10.
 
Pole length has nothing to do with looking like a gaper. It's the way that you use them that influences how you look.

Mine are 40's and i'm 6"3. Good for park and good for moguls. We dont really get pow in aus so it dosnt matter how short they are
 
im starting to like shorter poles when im trying stuff in the park. they are way lighter so you dont even notice them. plus i dont really have to pole all that much in the park. they are starting to grow on me but i still like longer poles for all mountain skiing.

short poles are the solution to the no poles situation. i have used full sized poles and no poles and now i have settled on short poles. they are perfect. just long enough that i can push off in lift lines but small enough so that they dont get in the way of my 1440s
 
I like longer poles better, cause when you stop in the lodge like for lunch and stuff it makes it easier to undo your bindings.

you need to find a balance between functionality and style... after all poles do have a specific purpose...

not sure how many kids out there actually know that by the sounds of things
 
At least I only skied at Northstar for an hour and a half, which was more than enough to declare it the worst set, most crowded, claimer filled, shit park I skied this year. Your park crew sucks, your park designer sucks and your locals suck most of all. Good thing none of your jumps were over 25 feet or people would have fucked themselves up badly.
 
dude, true. But, the thing is I live 3 and a half minutes from the gondola, and alpine way far away and the people their arn't very chill, so I call N* my home. it not perfect, but it works.
 
Damn, you must have some cash to live there. What is the median home price at Nstar now, like 750? I can't believe why they would want to develop that shit mountain, it doesn't offer that much except for crowds, flatness and forced family atmosphere. Just wait until the next recession and there will be tons of foreclosures on all those 4 million dollar homes owned by Bay Area yuppie fucks.
 
You're from Pocatello huh? There is a lifty at Beaver Mtn(near Bear Lake) that won't let kids get on the lift if they have ghey short poles or more than one bandana on them. I support him 100%.
 
agree with his personal choice of style or not, it shouldn't matter to you what people wear or how short of poles they use. who is he to decide how they should dress or how long their poles have to be?
 
He is one of the coolest guys I've met, and a sick skier who has had it with park rat wankstas who can't even link turns.
