I work in a shop, and am currently disgruntled and have many horror stories. The thinking of the average recreational skier is SCARY...

hey quick question for all the shop guys on here. how do i get a job at a shope? i don't know too much of ski repair and such but I could sell stuff to anyone even if they don't want it i'm good with skis! and i relly wanna get shop experience? what should I do?

Yeah, I work in a shop, and yeah, I am a little disgruntled about it. I wish it were a better shop, But I still enjoy it, and it has it's many benifits. Really it comes down to who you work with, not what you work with.

I was a ski tech at Sport Chalet in West Hills for like 1 year and a half, now im a shop guy at REI. Yah what u claim fool!...haha what shops you guys work at, names and locations!!?

Ok heres a question for all you shoppies.

I just took my skis into our local shop to get the bindings put on. Now not only did the asshole who put them on not know what the fuck he was doing he put one binding up more foward on my ski so now when i wear my skis one foot is up further than the other. ALSO he was so stupid he drilled a freakin whole through my ski!!

What should I do!? Can i sue!?

Talk to the service manager, that shit is unacceptable, although mistakes happen, the employee and the shop should take full responsibility.

I have never personaly drilled through a ski, but i have mis mounted my fare share (jigs can jump around a little on skis with lots of metel, like the old dynastar speed 63 with a full metal plate, the non pretapped ones were a bitch!) BUT I WOULD ALWAYS JUST REPLACE THEM, never would i give a custy a fucked up ski.

Demand a refund, or new skis.
