Personal feelings....
Markers are good for racers, they were designed for that type of positing first.
Look/Rossi Pivot Heals are very good for newschool but can be heavy
Salomon (8 or 9 series) are nice but have issues too, but the ti are AMAZINGLY light
Tyrolia are good, but older 3 position flex plate with totaly ruin the camber in your skis.
Geeze, well in there time were good
Atomic feel cheep, are heavy but there 3 - 5 position plate rocks and being able to lock down the toe (like a salomon 912) or unlock (like a marker) is a very nice feature.
Nordica, not much experience but I hear they are getting better.
Line, well not much to say, go back to R&D and fix the problems, concept rocks though!
All in all binding are bindings, some will hold you in in rear falls (Sal) some will let you realease in rear falls (marker) some stay with your boots (look/Ros) and some have heal & toe peices that move (Tyrolia). You need to get what works for you. I love Salomon 912ti, but others have had issues. I also love my Looks but they are heavy.
The main thing is get what you need, and get it professionally done, it not worth it to fuck up your legs, foot or body just because you could find a pro to set/install your bindings..
Agin sorry for the book, but its just an opinion. Do what you want, buy what you want, and let your skiing show them that you are good!
