Shop Sponsorship Question

Ok, I just wanted to know how you find out if a shop will sponsor you? And how would you go about getting sposored by it, with likecontest results and a video like regular sponsors...and for people that are sponsored by shops...what do they do to help you and are there any specific things you gotta do for them to hold them as a sponsor? This really helps if anyone can anwser these for me. Thanks

no, its defineatly not, i dont know how it happens, but i do know how to get sponsorships from companys. my buddy has one ill ask him what the deal with it was.

basically all u have to do is tell everyone where u got their gear and tell them they have the best prices.....and they will either hook u up with free gear....or like 50% off....eh just be nice....they might sponsor u in a way

compete in every contest that you can and shoot all season long and make yourself a good video with good music that rprsnts you. and if you get sponsored then juste tell all your friends and try to promote your sponsor in order to keep them.

shop sponsorship requires extremely good skills about talking up the shop on the hill and getting people in...u gotta really let the owner know you have the ability to market their shop without annoying kids while doing it

It would also help to be a customer of the shop, try to get to know the employees so word can get around easier. Contgrats also on spelling sponsorship correctly!

yeah all you have to do is ask em. And as far as stuff that they give you, discounts on product, and free stuff from there shop, cuz what you are doin is help promote them.

i ride for a shop....i just asked them if they would be interested in helping me out a bit.....i had been goin there for a while....and they hooked me up

i have like one shop that i got to frequently i think i will ask for a sponsorship from....Plus whenever im on the hill i end up talkiing to kids and they ask me where i got stuff from...The person that runs the shop is really nice and i think they would want someone to promote...thanks for all the help....one last question..should you include what you do and where you ride and age and stuff..?

Depending on the shop, id say youd have a better chance with a mom and pops kinda store. Chances are extremely low that youll get any money, but cheap or free gear is the next best thing...

I think that the snowboard shop by my house may sponsor me. They don't even sell skis but the owner said he would consider sponsoring a skier if I am good enough. Is personality and ability to market the shop a big deal or is it mostly skill?
 
They go hand in hand. There is no point having one without the other, but marketability/ability to generate good PR for the shop is more important in my eyes..
 
no inconvenience, however i think it would have been alot better to just create a new thread, asking your specific question. I was going to reply to a few of the posts in here, and then i realized the date.
 
I loled, I guess for me since I am not that good personality would win it. But some of the pros seem like dicks sometimes I guess they are so good that it makes up for it.
