I brought my new t-halls into the shop to get mounted. I told them to mount them tru centre but they fucked up and mounted them farther back. They are offfereing to remount them and give me a 50$ rebate. Should i take it?

they dont carry those skiis but i think thier gona give me more. I am goin to try and talk them into giving me a pair of crowbars.

so they would remount them and give you a 50 dollar gift card essentially?

just use the gift card towards the goggles. dont be a dick about it.

Sorry, but its your own fault. If you want it done YOUR way, make it clear. I always make a line on my ski where I want them mounted. You cant always expect a busy tech to interperate everything you say. Its a serious pet peeve of mine when people complain about a mis-mount, ESPECIALLY when its about where to be mounted. Just for next time, talk to the tech and mark your skis.

Also, what I think your doing with trying to get free crowbars is wrong. A free remount shoudl be more than enough, but they are giving you 50$ too! Just take the 50 and get them remounted at true, and mark them yourself so there is no confusion.

unless you DRAW A LINE on the ski you have no real reason to complain. take the free remount and take the 50 bucks credit thats more than enough. 1 mount wont comprimise the integrity of the ski

Right-o! When you say "True Centre" they will often see that as the "True Centre" of the sidecut, which if often the reccomemned mount of the ski.

When I got my rossi's mounted, I told him true centre, and then he replied, "You mean the ballanceing point?"

Basically, the terminology is different. However, a line will create no confusion.

the same thing happened to me with my t-halls. i just had them re-mounted. i would just take them up on the offer at least u get 50 bucks out of it.

yeah, draw the line and get the free remount, its a confusing subject, i brought my fujis to a shop last year and asked for center mount and they did them core center not true center, my fualt for not being specific, so when i got my mik ds mounted this year i measured and drew the dead center line on them and it was 1.5 cm forward from the 9 marked core center line, so i got them mounted right after drawing the line

take their offer. Be very gracious, and understanding. Building a good relationship with a shop/tech guy can be ver beneficial to you in the long run.

Exactly. The tech at my sportchek is super awesome, mounts my skis for a good price, and knows his stuff. The only reason I didnt get my lasts et mounted with him is because they didnt haev the fks jig.

even the young guys who work at the store near me didn't know that the factory marked center is different than teh core center. The guy was pretty surpriseed When I asked him to measure and it was like 3 cm farther back.

its not good to remount and if their not offering to give you new skis, talk oto the manager and tell him that you think u should get skis and not just a 50 $rebate, but if their not having any of it, just take the money and dont go back there and let them remount it

If they mounted it reccomended, then fuck it, take the 50 bucks and DON'T make them remount. They'll be great there and you won't have an extra set of holes in your skis.

Yeah, I had a clearly marked line, and when my brother went to pick them up for me they were just in the "problem pile" unmounted because they didn't know what to do despite the fact that I had shown the tech the line and written at least two sentences about it on the form. Turns out they didn't have a PX jig wide enough for a 97 waist ski, and the tech asked my brother if the skis were for heli-skiing as if he had never seen anything but 75 mm groomer cruisers. Why is it that shops are like 3 to 4 years behind the industry? I took my skis somewhere else.

What a bummer. When I was having my invaders mounted up centre, I made sure to stick with the tech while he was doing it just to be sure.
