shop guys - need help

ok, so i have an older pair of salomon bindings (997s) that were initally mounted on plates. i have since gotten rid of the plates and am going to mount these things on my rail skis (which are drilled for salomons), but i lack shorter screws. so could anyone who works in a shop help me out by sending me the regular salomon screws (i live in southern california, so basically there's no ski shops to speak of)?

are you gonna drille them yourself ? cauz if no, check in the Salomon recall list to check if your bindings are still good. If they're not, no techs will drill those on for you, since the release isn't safe anymore. just check that out before getting some screws.

fakie, the skis are already drilled for salomons (but i sold that pair), and the threads are still perfect, so i'm just gonna put some wood glue on the new screws and mount these bindings.

tandan, shot you an email

i sold the bindings that were originally on the skis.

and i don't have access to a grinder of any sort (and my school is one of those places where it's not 'politically correct' to have a shop class since it singles out the guys and excludes the girls since they don't want to sign up for it). if worse comes to worse, i'll take a vise and hacksaw to the things, but fakie said he'd send me a set tomorrow, so i don't think i'll have to go that route.

oh, and fakie, i looked over my shop manuals - the 997s are still on the salomon indemnified list

yup - exact same thing as newer 900 series bindings, just a slightly different housing and independent toe wings instead of 2x toe wings.
