Shop class project ideas

sup so my culminating for shop class has been assigned. it's something that has to be able to support 180 lbs of weight. it can be anything. i was thinking of a muskoka chair or a rocker. got any ideas for challenging and fun things to make?

Buy your own! That's what I did for my project, I made a DFD. Because it was in class I spent a lot of time on it, it was perfect. Figure out your angles, maybe toss some siding on it, and just make it look pristine. My teacher loved it and I got a good mark for ingenuity (even though they are pretty common.)

Chair's a fine idea, not very creative though. The rail's good, but only if you have PVC. Go for it if you do though.

i actually just made this. and i did carve a dildo last year and left it on top of the milling machine for everyone to see

make a snowskate. all you need to build is a nice deck with some footstraps or griptape elevated above a single snowblade or kids twin tip.

they are super fun to ride on sledding hills. i almost got a pop shovit last year at our local sledding area haha.

Ski chair!

But honestly make a rail. PVC is so cheap. You could make yourself a baller ass setup, right before winter! Do it!

I suppose this isn't auto shop but if you can work with motors and shit, build a winch and hit urban with it after receiving an A+...but if its strictly woodworking then make a pvc rail of some sort...that's what I did last year for my manufacturing class

I made a baller ass drop in for my woods class my sophomore year of High School. I still have that bitch in my backyard.

I did this in shop class back in grade 12. Though its heavy and can be a bitch to bring to spots. Still works great !

Just last week another NS'er and I made a box in class. It's legit as fuck, 12 feet long, one foot wide, just build a frame with plywood and supports, and then take some metal as coping and drill that in on the top corners. Your shop probably has some type of L shaped metal pieces. We just hit it yesterday for the first time, slides amazing.
