Shooting at Canada's Parliament

I live about 20-30 minutes from where this all went down. We had a secure school from 10am-2pm (Have to stay in class rooms.) It was insane, truly a terrible day for us in ottawa, as well as Canadians as a nation.

Some dumb fuck kid that lives in the area posted this on twitter

He is now getting tweeted at and about by most of the kids in Ottawa, and they are pissed.

Sounds like one of those pieces if shit that also critisize Remembrance Day. I have absolutely zero patience for people who speak like that. Then the coward deleted the tweet

Like the ones you insinuated in both of these paragraphs. Then you go on to blame someone else for doing it just because you assume they will...even though you just did. Jesus

RIP to the bro who was killed. Curious to see what the shooter was pissed about

You are insinuating I am calling all Arabs Muslim which is untrue. I said his name sounds Arabic, which, if you consider the news reporting the addition of Abdul, it does. But again, it does not mean he is a Muslim.

I had overheard people relating it to ISIS, seeing this happened less than 24 hours ago. http://news.yahoo.com/canadian-soldier-run-over-suspected-islamic-radical-dies-132343525.html

I
then decided to say, if it was ISIS, which I believe it is not, it could not have been more than someone radicalized through the internet.

Stephen Harper is supposed to speak in about 10 minutes, it's so shocking to think that acts like this are now a reality in Canada

Can anyone pinpoint where the origins of more than one shooter started? I have yet to find a decent site that can accurately describe how that theory came to be. Hopefully its not true.

I heard on the radio this morning right after it happened that one bad guy was dead then 40 minutes later there was more shooting thus meaning multiple bad guys. Havent listened to the news since so i dont know anything else

Ok I don't want to sound insensitive and mot trying to downplay what's happened, but:

Media needs to fuck RIGHT off with the fear mongering. Headlines everywhere saying stuff like "Canada under attack" and shit like that that's totally overblowing what's happened.

This is what's happened from what we know: crazy dude shot 1 person then got destroyed. How this equals to Canada being under attack is beyond me, this is peanuts compared to being under attack. Again, 1 dude with a shotgun. Not an army of isis fighters landing on our beaches.

Media also need to fuck off with the constant speculation that he even has anything to do with isis till they know more than absolutely nothing.

Also queue the conspiracy theorists about this being set up because of the bills that were being passed today.

Rip to a good soldier.

Perfectly said, and by no means insensitive.

I'm on the verge of blocking a friend on FB because he's filling my feed with crackpot theories about how this was an inside job like 9/11, Boston and Sandy Hook in order for the govt to take away all our rights. Guys nuts and it's getting ridiculous.

What news coverage have you been watching? Because CBC has handled this perfectly. Nothing overblown, no bullshit, no graphics, no ominous music and taking care to only report what's confirmed.

They had that on Global for a bit. But I'll admit Cbc has been great with it, but I wouldn't expect any less from them. Although they keep bringing up isis regardless of knowing nothing about his affiliations

^ More like keep posts like that out of this thread ^

Back on topic..... It would be cool if the NHL sung Oh Canada at every game tonight. kinda un-related but thats just what I think

For the record, they always sing the Canadian National Anthem at Buffalo Sabres home games.

I'm hoping that its not in any way tied to what happened earlier in the week, where a different soldier was ran over by a car. The driver had recently converted to Muslim and did it because he thought he had to. Isis man...
