last night on the news (it was only the new vr, so they could be wrong) they said that because of the return of el nino this area (being central/southern ontario) will get the shit end of it again this year for snowfall.

after last year where we got pretty much NO snow - that's the last thing i wanted to hear. hopefully the new vr is wrong because i really, really, really, really want a good snow year this winter. SHIT!

man look what happened last time el nino was happening, Ontario got a lot of snow, we've always got lots of snow until last year, and there was like no rain last summer either, we had a drought this summer so we didn't get much rain but in the last week or two, it's rained almost every single day here and it's been quite cold lately so im a firm believer that the new vr is full of shit and that were gonna get lots of snow. Be a bit more optimistic, cause any time somebody says something about a shitty winter it really gets me down.

yup...last time there was an el nino....we got a shit load of snow (for Ontario). Generally warmer waters mean more precipitation. And don't pay attention to VR. HOw many times do they tell you the weather, but say it'll be sunny with clouds/50% chance of rain, maybe foggy, could snow with temps between -2 and 30 degrees all for 1 day....they throw it all in, just to be right. When the weather is bad, they can say they told you it was coming, and when it's good you don't care.

yah my parents told me that we're gonna have a shitty winter here in ontario, they keep taunting me with it, like its funny or something...but its not :(

the people around NY are saying were going to have a good winter but thats what they always say. Im hoping because its staying to warm so late that the great lakes will freeze late resulting in more evaporation and snow.........hopefully!

hey, el ninio or whatever it is called is goingt o bring tons of snow...i can feel it, rememebr about 4 winters ago i think, it was crazy, we had so much snow, yea well thats this year...i hope

 
man I am glad I am heading back to whistler this winter... I couldn't take the lack of snow last year.... so I left... I am leaving in advance this year. yeay me. hmm.

of course people are gonna say this winter will be shitty, our summer was the same as last years, so they are just playing it on the safe side and saying it will be the same winter too. I dream of a weatherman that knows what the fuck is going on in this world, does such a person exist?

No one knows yet. It's all bull, there is absolutly no telling what our winter will be like yet. They can look at all the stars and wind patterns and shit they want but it is all just one persons idea.

I am a meteorologist too ya know, haha, and I am going on the record right now saying that this winter Ontario will have the longest, biggest, hardest snow year within the last ten years. I remember last year the no snow for 90 days in Ontario thing.

It all bull.

Im trying not to hear that news... At least if we can get the cooler temps than it wont be so bad because of Blue's snowmaking system.. They should have things rollin'. (-5C to -7C is the best temperatures for snowmaking, last year anyways) I'll be working on lifts this year. Everyday I hope for a snowstorm.

what are you guys thinking?!?! listening to the news and all. The only real way to do it is to pray to the snow god!!! i've been doin it every night, and gosh darnet we are gonna get some snow!

 
you never know what's gonna happen. if there's a random snow storm early (but not too early) then the whole season will be ok. but without that the season probably won't start till mid january.

I just read the farmers almanac for this winmter. It states that there will be above average temps, but also above average precipitation this year. Heavy snow in Jan. and Feb. with a major blizzard coming the secong week of Feb.

They way I see it, I never listen to weather forcast for more than tommorow's weather. Half the time they are wrong too. So how the hell can they predict the weather months ahead. Fuck them, everyone is getting a shit load of snow in my own mind.
