Shitty day of skiing, is it possible?

I used to think any day of skiing was a good day. Having a bad day, just go up to the mountain and take a few runs and it will solve your problems. i think these times have passed. Today i was having a shitty day, so i did just that, took some runs... the snow was shitty, and i fell a few times misjuding the table... and all in all ive skied in worse, but today i felt differnt. i do remeber skiing in down pouring rain last year(being the only one at my hill) and having a blast. Idk mabey i'm just out growing skiing, that or mabey im just pissed that the season is comming to an end, and spring snow sucks.

Next year ill be at college and most likely wont get a pass anywhere just the occasional trip on the weekends or during christmas break... it kinda sucks to think about...that your time as a ski freak is comming to an end.....shitty and sorry for wasting your time.

if that time ever comes for me i will be very depressed, cuz right now its the only thing that can take a load off when i need it

Overshooting/severly undershooting a jump is sometimes all it takes to have the rest of the day be really shitty. Sometimes when the weather is shitty you can have the most fun ski days ever though so its definately not dependent on the weather.

sometimes when im having a shitty day skiing its because i just need a change..you should just try going for some cruise runs and just doing something different..it might help

hahha i love when it downpours and its warm, knowone on the mountain, most fun i ever had...thanks sugerbush and friends

exactly...if you've been having a bad day in the park, hit some of the regular trails and find a way to make them mad fun like ollie stuff and hit cliffs, always makes a bad day better

shitty days every once in a while are inevitable, and i guess skiing didn't help enough today. Get over it, one day skiing shouldnt dampen your whole attitude toward the sport that i can tell u loved at one point

when im not feelin the park or when i get hurt sometimes i just cruise for a while and beat some of those racers down the hill, makes ya feel a little better and gives you a break from abusing yourself =)

i know what you mean, it can be discouraging to misjudge jumps a bunch of times. next time you get a sick spring day in the park the passion will return. i wish i could be out there

that happened to me too, i was really scared that after i bought all this new ski shit and thrown away my old stuff that i was starting to not like it, which i thought was impossible , i felt so shitty but the next time i went up i had so much fun and it brought me back into it

hasnt happened again since,

(this was before i came to newschoolers and didnt know any skiers, even tho i still dont know any skiers and some fags at my school want to get into skiing and they ask me to help them because i am the only ski freak at my school, theres one other kid but hes a snowboarder, but i dont want them to ski, i wish they were snowboarding)

it happends...hopefully i go to a college near a ski hill that has a ski program thing. like students ski free and shit like that. this year ive been experienceing more and more shitty days. mostly when i land wrong and completely kill my shins. so i get pissed and ski mountain, goin switch the whole way, dodging massholes and joeys along the way. if i can cut one off or piss them off and make their day shitty for 3 minutes. thats usually wut cheers me up

thats exactly like me except for the fact im goin into HS. im 14. i ski pa so basically its a bad day everyday but i dont see it as that. i have fun every time i ski whether its in rain, snow, or watever. one day the winds got up to 70mph and skiing sucked but i still had fun skiing. it was pouring almost every weekend this year but i still went up and had a blast. the only times i have a "shitty day" are the days where i just suck and am completly off. like this passes sunday i was doin fine all day. but then i just started fallin on rails and boxes i can always do. so i decided ill just go around skiing switch but then i fell hard doin that so i just decided it got shitty but wasnt a shitty day

^that prolly might of not made any sense at all but w/e

I hardly have shitty days i can just have fun booming groomers. if the park sucks and there is no pow.

i know what you mean, ill try to escape my crapy day by skiing but some times the bad day can follow you there, you just gota ski it off

Twice, I almost had a bad day. One time, I tried new boots, but they were to big, and I didn't bring my regular ones. They were soo akward, I couldn't even spin 3s and I was flailing on straight airs. Soo embarassing. But after a few hours, I got almost back to normal.

Another time, just recently, when I went to Brighton, I started hitting the big jumps, but they were built like nothing I have ever hit before. They were intimidating and I became really discouraged. But again, after a few hours, I got my confidence up and I was up to my normal par.

So, I have had partial bad days, but I can't think of any ski day where the entire time has been bad.

i feel the pain man. i had a ton of people who couldnt get enough skiing in and they were always goin up with me. but now im a senior in college (age 22) and no one will go up anymore. they are always working or studying.

its fun to go by urself everyonce in a while and shit but not EVERYtime ya know. so ive been trying new shit like the dudes above. flat land tricks, finding natural features in the trees, etc. just find something new. the search for new stuff is just as fun as doing a switch 7, i promise

you cant let skiing be your own release because it will fail every once in a while.

i love skiing but sometimes skiing by yourself, on a cold/windy/cloudy day, its not always that fun

dude dont give up on skiing! im sure by mid summer you will be wishing that u had sum snow outside so take advantage of wut u got and go shread on wut ever u have avalible!
