This winter may not be so good. this is from the NOAA

"Typical

El Niño effects are likely to develop over North America during

the upcoming winter season. Those include warmer-than-average temperatures

over western and central Canada, and over the western and northern United

States. Wetter-than-average conditions are likely over portions of the

U.S. Gulf Coast and Florida, while drier-than-average conditions can

be expected in the Ohio Valley and the Pacific Northwest."

Thats not good.

although, i have seen many weather forecasts that see this coming season as normal temps and normal precipitation, with average snowpack in the mountains. nothing like last year, but they are thinking pretty much the same as the 03-04 season. I would be stoked on that. But then again, we live in the PNW....we'll just have to wait it out and see.

farmers almanac this year calls for 1 to 2 degree below average from what i have seen, with abover average snowfall in the pacific northwest althought not an overly wet winter. Light and fluffy sounds good to me !

I dont think we can get an accurate forecast, period. Our climate is changing in far too many ways, other than just getting warmer. Hopefully we get lucky this season.

Yeah we really wont know till it actually gets here. I remember a couple of seasons ago when we had some good pre-season fun in October and everyone thought it was a good sign..but then the rest of the season was like non-existent

if the jet stream stays roughly the same, it would be a grand season (arching through gulf of alaska right now).

but it wont

well grant with you working on an arch. degree and Sean with his engenering one. we should be able to go up and build a big funel in the sky that would keep it like that.
