Shipping from US

So, here in the UK, free skiing is understated, because the majority of the population are one week a year piste skiers. While there is freeze pro, and to an extent, Brighams, there are very few other shops, either on the high street, or online, that sell the stuff we like. However, there are plenty of sites in the US that sell these things. The major problem I've found is that most of them don't ship to the UK (brands including full tilt - I'm after a replacement pair of boots - Last years drop kicks in a 25.5 which I had then sold, because I needed the money...)

Is there any way of getting stuff shipped from US only sites and stores? Preferably one that doesn't involve flying out there.

Without paying the import taxes. No. Your best bet, if you want to get US stuff like Saga is get it from Freeze pro.

Other than that, look around each of the US "shops" and see if they'd ship to you. Just be prepared to pay the import taxes.

You can pretty much get most things shipped from the US, you'll have to deal with the shipping costs obviously, but usually if you speak to the company or store, through email, that you're looking to buy from they can mark the value of the product down so you hopefully shouldn't incur any import taxes.

Also there are actually quite a few 'US Brands' sold in the UK, stock isn't always great though...

Ski Bartlett- http://www.skibartlett.com/ (They carry Full Tilt)

If all else fails find a friend who wants something too and split the shipping and import taxes

No.

Saga (for example) have clearly stated that they won't mark down the cost of the stuff they are shipping just so someone on the receiving end doesn't pay import taxes. They would be taking a huge risk with guaranteeing delivery.

"Customs/Tariff fees are NOT included in the shipping price. These fees are your responsibility. The shipping carrier will request collection once the package enters your country. Please contact your local customs office for more information regarding custom, tariff, and duty fees."

And,

"Can you mark my package as a gift or lower the values to prevent customs taxes/fees?

No. We apologize, but we are not willing to risk our ability to ship internationally by doing this."

Do not even attempt to ask a company to lower the values. They WON'T do it.

If however you are purchasing something via a 3rd party, then by all means ask them.

I ordered a load of gear from Saga on pre-order, and was more than happy to pay the duties for that. Not a problem. The question I had was regarding getting stuff posted internationally from 'USA only' stores. Turns out I didn't need worry in the end, but I did find that there are companies set up to enable you to do it.

I haven't tried shipping stuff from the US before, but there are a few shops in the UK that sell some good stuff- full tilts n what not. Also, I would never buy boots online, go get them fitted properly!

Jiberish have done it twice for me?

Eastern Collective have too, i'm not trying to say all companies will but its not going to hurt if OP asks politely if there is a chance.

While it is illegal, Saga has done it for friends of mine without even asking, so yeah, never say never.

Dunno if they still do it, but Freeze said they would order in specific items if I wanted them, not sure if you would have to pay extra tho

Technically a firm can mark it as a cost price, thus covering them legally. More of a loophole than anything.
