So today i got some of the worst shingbang i have ever gotten. It sarted friday and it hurt to walk, then took a rest saturday. went skiing this sunday and first run i overshot the landing, and landed on the flat. i just did a simple 5 but when i landed and all my weight went forward it caused me to bang my skins on my boots. i was in so much pain i could not ski the park for the rest of the day, i was stuck on the camera. So now after skiing on my shin all day, it is actually painfull for me to walk, without ski boots on. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do, or should i just let it be the way it is and man it out?

end rant/

get booster straps. i used to get the worst shinbang, until i got them. i haven't gotten shinbang since.
wow, i sound like an ad... but it's true

you could always stretch out before, mabye even stretch those fingers all the way over to the searchbarrrrrrrrrr

far right cornaaa

but legit shinbang does blow i feel your pain

i had it TERRIBLE last weekend

a combo of weed and painkillers did the trick for me for the day

and i got my school trainer to roll it out during the week

i got it horrible today too. i've tried everything, booster straps included, and i still get it. oh well, maybe its cause my boots were used and $20....

Ice them now, 15 minutes each leg. that will make it so you can walk without hurting.

Then take a few days off until you can run your finger up and down your shin area without it hurting. Ice as much as possible.

search bar and icy hot... when u put the icy hot on dont touch your face afterwards. you can't feel it on your palm but its there. my chin is alternating between hot and cold right now, but my shins dont hurt anymore.

wtf no full tilt jokes yet!! maybe there will one day be an end to the full tilt plague!

but seriously wait it out as much as it sucks but you have to sometimes. and If you are thinking about changing boots, get them custome fit

ice them for now, and what helped me a lot, was at the Y they have a machine where you sit down and do leg extenions by pushing off your toes/balls of youe feet. helped a ton to get rid of my shin bang in a few days.
or just stand one your tippy toes a bunch to get a similar affect.

or just drop some duckets on some fulltilts.

yeah i use a tube sock and stuff it in thier i use to ride with really old boots so it was really bad all the time. now i got some boots that are really tight and i dont get that bad of shin bang

I use a kinda cooling gel. It does not work like immideatly, but if you use it like 2-3 times a week, for 2-3 days, the pain should be reduced alot.
Also, make sure your boots fit you. I am not really really sure that my boots fits me perfect, but the guy that sold me it (i think he was professional) said they were perfect. Maybe its because he tighted them all up, and i ride them loose alot of the time.
And i also recomend using SKISOCKS.

actualy you prob didnt get it from the 5 cause when you land forward in your boot it doesnt make you get it just when you land backseat that is when you realy get it badly trust me

the best thing for shin bang is fly fishing. Not only do you take a needed break from skiing and have fun fising but standing in the cold river compresses and ices your shins nicely

hahaha really?

of course, you could just check out full tilts. thats what ive been told anyway.

yeah but if you wrap your entire leg in tape then wont you cut off the blood flow to your leg? and so if you put the tape on too lose then it will just fall off or slide down your leg while skiing.

i have tehse padded things that i used inbetween my shins and boot tounges, ive also heard you can use mousepads/other foam things to help. i had baddd bang when i did it, it helped a bit i was only in a lsight bit of discomfort.

get booster straps. they will hold the tongue of the boot nice and close to your shin and keep you secure. definately one of the best investments in your boots

full tilts, no shin bang.

from friends that use booster straps they seem to work.

if anything loosen your top strap with a thumb or a couple fingers gap between your boot.

ideas man ideas.

word.
