so i see that there are now those manoove shintronic things but they also cost like 45 dollars. i cant stop skiing for like 2 weeks for my shins to get better so i was wondering if there are any good ideas to make your own shintronics? i would cut up a wetsuit, but i dont have one

make ur own by getting a pair of thick socks (tube)

cut off everthing except the tube, so its like a sleeve. make the sleeve about 6-7 inches in length for even weight distribution

then do dat

well im kinda stuck on lange comp 120 freerides cuz i ride for them. i think im gonna cut the material from a wetsuit or something made from neoprene

i think im going to try that tube sock idea. its a lot cheaper than buying a 50 dollar wetsuit just for the leg parts, unless they sell that material somewhere

if you stomp your landings, you shouldnt get shin bag, at least i dont when i stomp. try working on your landings, stomping and riding out clean. i get mad shin bang when i land back seat a lot

it like jus tstarted last week too cuz i was at moutn snow for a slopestyle and the landings were real flat. i couldnt ski the next day cuz it was ssoo bad

i got it pretty bad like a month and a half ago, iced them every night and everything, and then i skied for a few weeks with my boots a little bit looser, it went away, and now they dont hurt anymore

i dunno maybe learn how to take the landings better? ive never really had shin bang, only one day cause i landed switch constantly and i had a little, but if you know how to take the landing right, and rnt backseat of coarse, then you should be okay

but yeah the wetsuit idea should work just fine

hopefully ill be getting a pair of shin tronicz in a week or two, ill tell you if theyre worth it

switch between ice and heat to make it heal faster, every minute or so for 10minutes (makes swelling go down) and maybe cut the top part of thick wool socks to add padding to the bottom part of your leg but cut the bottom part so so that its not mad tight. i dunno thats an idea

Most all of your problems are caused by two things.... either your leg hair is getting ripped out by your sock and it just feels like shin bang, or you do not have the support you need in your boot under your foot. You should go to a professional boot company (i.e. Surefoot) and get custom insoles made for your boots. They are expensive, but will cure most of your shin bang. When I got these, my shin bang stopped completely except for when I land in the back seat all day.

well i have both ripped out hair and shin bang....the front of my leg looks like its been shaved now but its def also bruised. i made these awesome bang blockers out of sponge and medical wrap. it might be too thick tho

i think its because the boot is pressing in one focused spot like below the top of the boot so if i put my awesome sponge bootbang stopper near the top of my boot it would make it so the shock is evenly distributed

ya, anything soft like that would work... you could easiyl go to like home depot and buy some foam too.

would it be better to attach it to the tongue in the boot, or wear it on your shin like under your sock? or is it a question of which is easier. know what i mean?

i used wetsuit neoprene a couple years ago. It actually works fairly well and you can usually get used wetsuits really cheaply at thrift stores depending on where you live.
