ok so lately when i've been skiing when im jumping off rails and stuff my shins have been killing me and it's recently gotten worse so that i cant even run up stairs barely cause my shins hurt. some people i've talked to say that it's shin splints and some people say i've just strained a muscle. it's on the outside edges/sides of both of my shins. are there any stretches i can do to get rid or this or leg workouts or do i just need to take a week off and let them heal cause ive skied every day for like 25 days in a row. help please.

it happens when you go to big or small. try not to land far back off of rails. you can get rid of it and still ski if you just land nice and take it easy

ive got promodel boots which fit pretty good but they're like a good half size too big so i really crank the buckles down

when I get shin splints I just rest a lot, take a few days off of skiing.

I had shin splints for an entire season like 3 years back...it sucks. Just rest for a week, beat them up again, and repeat.

Off season will take care of it. For now just be careful.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

i had shinsplints when i ran track it helps to take a day or so off and rest then do like 10 min of ice on them then 10 min of heat and repeat this a couple times it helps to open the blood vessels and aleaviates pain, also check webmd for anyother ideas

shin splints are caused by the muscle being ripped away from the bone. i learned that in anatomy. wooo. i get them too, except its more towards my ankle and i can't turn and put pressure on that leg. it sucks, but the only way to help them is to massage you leg with ice and rest!
