I think i have shinsplints and i was wondering if theyre gonna bother me during the ski season? PT showed me how to tape em for my soccer season but i was wondering if anyone had any remedies or info on how it'll affect ski season?

work out your calves and all your muscles in your shins by walking on your heels and tippy toes just around the house and shit

they suck ive had em since like last december (not so severe any more) and ive been hella stupid

i just keep trampin on em and jumpin on the diving board and fuckin em up more. my advice is to tape em for soccer, let em rest for like 3-4 weeks and just dont put pressure on em and dont jump (if u have a tramp, or pool nearby, etc...) and by ski season u should be good

if you roll your ski pole up and down your shin with some decent pressure it won't hurt while you ski. deadens the nerves or somethin, slight pain, but worth it. used to do when I competed.

make sure your boots fit properly when your boots are too big it happens easier. try putting your strap under your buckles, as in tighten that before you buckle your boots. and you can get power straps too that sometimes helps.

good point. your boot size is very important. for an advanced fit your toe should just barely be touching the front. get some superfeet too.

superfeets or any foot beds, easiest way to see if a boot fits lengh wise is shell fit. take out the liner slide your foot to the front of the boots so your toes are touching the shell, drive your knee forward then put your hand down the back side of the boot you should only be able to fit 2 fingers stacked ontop of each other beind the heel and back of the boot.

I had shin splins three years ago and they hurt like a bitch skiing. Especially if you nuckle, overshoot or land bably jumps. (anything that impacts your shins more than usual) but it's dooable if you have balls.

I'm kinda repeating but do your boots up really tight. Get a booster. It'll hurt at the time but it hurts less than having them loose skiing. Try and walk around in them for 30mins a day for like a week before you go skiing to 'desensitise' your shins. Also if you want you can run a rolling pin even a ski pole but it hurts more (anything round) at a moderate rate down your shins to also desentitise your shins. It also I think creates a little bit of swelling I think which can cushion the shin I think.

I'm not sure if you'll get it I got like little lumps of like swelling and I think it helps to push them out or something.

It would probably help if you were able to, to get some of those padded tongues for your boots to cushion a little more.

If you do whatever you can to try and make it better before the season. Good luck hope it gets better before you ski.

i had shin splints all last season and it fucking sucked. i still skied every weekend but thank god for vicodin. it would definitely be in your best interests to chill on jumping before the ski season starts...

i get shin splints SOOOOOO bad and my shins will swell up and get all purple and shit. it hurts like a fucker for dayss and days... ill wrap em up and it doesnt do anything any more. grrrr then if i land back seat a tiny bit im srewed

i get them so bad, ice and massage them, take your knuckles and just run them up and down the sides of your shins where they hurt and it helps a lot
