Shin bangs

Dude you get SHINBANGS?Fuck, I thought people had it rough who got shin bang.
jk
Seriously though, there are two explanations:1: You suck at skiing(backseat bandit)2(More likely): Your boots don't fit you properly.

Yeah i know about this, but i had fucking hard shinbangs because of bad boots last season so i bought new boots now. But what i thought was weird is that i got shinbangs after 1 hour of skiing my first run this season. And i'm not a "backseat bandit" either

wait till it is gone, or at least rest a bit, and then tighten your bootsup up a lot

worked for me

Does tightening your boots help prevent it? I had it horrible when I landed something one day I rested, put ice on it and came back out with my straps looser.

tightening your boots doesnt completely get rid of shinbang but it does help quite a bit

Ya it may be backseat cuz I find that at the end of the day when im getting tired and sloppy that I start to get shin bang

Tryed strapping my boots really hard, and then got even more hurt because of not getting anyh blood to my feet. if i ski to much leaning back, i guess i have to take some ski lessons or some shit.

no I mean its all mental stuff you just need to concentrate on keeping your shins on the front of your boots and have the hands out in front. Both of those will keep you out of the backseat, thus in more control of your skis.

I haven't had shinbang in over 4 years ever since I started skiing in super stiff boots.

Tighten those fuckers down! Especially the strap!

booster straps worked well with me. before if i skied a day of park i had to quit 3 quarters in cuz i couldn't walk. now i can do as much as a want. reduces it by about 90 percent.

ya the boosters will help alot from what ive heard but like someone said you have to keep your shins strapped to the boot, even if its uncomfortable

Anyone had a year free of shin bang and then with same boots (2nd year used) start getting it? Mine is minor right now, but gets worse every time it seems and i haven't changed anything from last year and no bad landings, yet....

on a slightly related note, my shins used to be dead last year after a day of skiing. this year, nothing, i have the same boots/socks/skis. and im skiing the same. so idk what the difference is. but im stoked

lol theres bald spots on my shin where i get shin bang. but i land backseat alot when i try new shit

Booster straps will save your soul.

And I thought afterbanging was cool. I guess it's truly progressive to be shinbanging now.

i had an extremly bad run in with shin bang last season, but now i got spks and they did the jobb

in my experiences, shaving your shins where you ski boots apply the most pressure relives shin bang. I guess it reduces friction or something.

try:

-proper fitting boots done up tight (just loose enough to not cut off circulation)

-booster straps (live up to the hype)

-no backseat riding, keep your shin pressed into the tounge, this will also help you carve better

some boots models to try: Full Tilts, SPK, Dalbello Krypton, but you gotta try them on before buying, everyones feet are different

i had the same problem and i went to a boot fitter and they put me in some tecnica agents and i get very little to no shin bang

I was skiing everyday for a couple of months last year now i ski once and have to take 2 weeks off then same again. i got full tilts and i dont ride back seat. do i need to take more time off? or what

Usually takes more than skiing backseat to get bang. You have to land backseat. It's funny that it's always been called shin bang. A ski doc told me you don't get it because your shins bang the front of the boot. He said you get it from the torque of your tib fib flexing. Only remody that worked for me was to stop spinning for awhile. Shins hurt so you try to keep them from touching the front of the boot. So you land in the back seat again and that makes it worse. It's a vicious cycle.

booster straps really do work. its not all hype. i started getting it really bad in the middle of this season. threw on some booster straps and it helped a TON. still get it occasionally, but thats mostly when i do something REALLY dumb.

Full tilts, booster straps, buckle them tight, make sure they arent to stiff, and your shinbang will go away

oh and put the straps UNDER the shell, but outside the liner. so it holds the liner tight to your leg

spk dont work for everyone! before, I had a another pair of boot and I never got shinbang. Now that I have spk my shin hurt a lot!

and I noticed that skiing backseat is not that bad. the real problem is when you are leanding backseat because all the weigh of your body put a lot of pressure on your shin in a short laps of time. after that impact, your shin is shaking and then BOOM a nice shinbang apear! (sorry for bad english)
