i know there have been alot of threads posted about this already but ive benn getting the worst shin bang. I tighten my boots up good(not to tight) and wear a booster strap but i still get bad shinbang even when i clear the table. The weirdest part of this is it just started happening the past few weeks. does anyone have suggestions?

i had the same problem cause someone told me it was good to have my boots tight. i took one day off it went away. thats when i tryed my top buckles kinda loose and my bottom ones tighter and havnet gotten shin bang since it could just be your boots are to stiff for you shins and dont flex enough when you land if that makes sense.(idk if that actually happens)

I had major shin bang and didn't want to take an extendd period of time off. I took 3 days off icing on and off through out the days. THis helped a lot. Then I tightened my boots tighter than I usually would when I went skiing. Every day after I ski I also ice don my shins. My shin bang is gone and Im back to normal. Ive also heard of using soccer shin guards.

Shin bang is a bit of a misnomer. It is not caused by the shin impacting the cuff of the boot but rather caused by the muscle being stretched. It is then tender and any pressure against it hurts like crazy. The muscle gets stretched by being in the back seat. I'm going to assume you have properly fitted boots and foot beds. If you do then you still may be having a bit of trouble staying centered as a result of things such as the setup on the cuff, the boots ramp angle, angle caused by the binding etc.

Perhaps on your landings you are too far back.

im pretty sure you can get shin bang that isnt from just landing backseat. from what ive heard shin bang is like having a bunch of little cracks in your bones. which would be from the impact of your boots, from casing and overshooting and things like that

ice up, stretch your shins and calfs, also walk around on your heels in your house or wherever. it strenthens the shin muscle alot.

I had the worst shin bang it even hurt hust walking and I had a comp the next day so i took a foam mouse pad and put it in my boot i didnt notice it at all

NO!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU BOOTS!

leaning back seat on landings bends your lower leg and fucks you shins, you cant solve this by making you boots looser/tighter, just dont land backseat anymore!

If shin bang is like little cracks in your shins, think about bending a peice of kindling, it cracks, the same thing happends when you land backseat, you are bending your bones.

but once you do get splints, loosening the top of your boots like crazy helps it go away. JUST DONT LEAN BACK!!
