What u should do is lay down and have someone push down on ur feet twards the grownd untill it starts to hurt and leave it there for a while

wha??? anyways... well I don't have any ideas for making it feel better, but i'd invest in a booster strap.

I've only heard good things about them.

You can find em at boosterstrap.com

get new boots, i had boots last year and got sooo horrable shin bang, i even took them back and got new ones for free, still had it. this year i got some new ones that fit well, nordica w w10s, and no bang and i have skied 4 days. just find a really good boot fitter.

land switch more, or don't land back seat. that is what kills you.

nordica w8 ladies kick ass...i had shin bang sooooo bad last year and this year i'm doin great! dont worry guys, i'll take care of jen, she's just got new boots that aren't broken in yet, dont fret!

joey: whats that?

me: i dunno

Joey: me either but it's comin back!

I think your problem is where you place the tongue of the boot. You wanna make sure it's not centered to the boot, but centered to where your shin actually is. Not sure if it makes sense?

I had shin bang so bad last year, and I went to talk to a guy at a ski shop, he told me this, and I'm using the same boots, and never had shin bang ever since.

Your not going to have it for the rest of the season, ice it ALOT! put ice on your chins for 15 min then leave it off for 15 nim. and keep doing that.

The reason you get shin bang is when you land back seat you stretch the muscle by your shin and it swells up, but it has no were to swell, that is why it hurts. Iceing always works for me.

SUMMER SUCKS!!!

yea

shaving your shins also help, and those pads you buy, help some, but now i dont have it at all with the new boots.

Nothing except fixing your form will work. Same thing with moguls, when you don't have shin pressure in the front of your tongue, you get backseat, and when you hit a bump, you get shinbang. It's caused by the muscle detaching from your shin, and tighter boots, or more padded ones won't do shit.

We have an old saying down on the bayou....Blehhhhh!!!

yeah shin bang is definitely due to backseat landings. when i was lerning 3s i had a few days in a row where all i did was crash backseat landings. after the third day i couldnt walk at all but constant ice helps brign down the swelling and some pill popping will help u get backon the hill

I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

Salad is what food eats

shots help too...i heard you can do that stretch that one dude was talkin about (stand on stairs and instead of raising up on toes, stand on edge and push toes down as far as possible...do as many as you can) this will help stretch that shin muscle out so when you do land backseat, it's not as bad...just a thought

for short term relief, make your tongue buckles as loose as possible and your foot buckles as tight as possible. The loosness will make it not hurt as bad when you land.

wow holy shit....... i just put on this hot rub stuff called 'white flower' from hong kong and it took away my pain in like 5 minutes.it's like super duper icy hot but like 10 times more effective.

ps. DO NOT PUT ON BALLS

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'for short term relief, make your tongue buckles as loose as possible and your foot buckles as tight as possible. The loosness will make it not hurt as bad when you land.'

wow, your a dumbass. that is the exact oppisite of what you need to do. buy loosening up your 2 upper buckles, you create area for your leg to move. Therefor, when landing in the back seat, you will get shot forward, causeing shin BANG (thats what shin bang is folks) Now a simple way to prevent shinbang is to tighten your boots, and let the flex of the boot soak up the shin bang. it also helps to get booster straps. for al those who dont know what a booster strap is, its a power strap ( the strap that is above your top buckle) the stretchs when you flex you boot. Think of it sort of like a trapoline. when you jump on a trampoline from 10 feet above the ground, it dont hurt what so ever, but when you jump on to hard grond it hurts.

THINK BEFORE YOU POST.

Believe it or not but shaving your shins helps alot. Just try it. Don't land backseat and if you have a hint of it take some time off before it gets really bad.

it will go away after a week....then you'll be good to go and it wont happen for the rest of the season.

Get new boots. I had the Salomon 9.0s super stiff. And I got shin splints so bad I couldn't even ski. THen I got the Rossi XX much more flexible, and I skied an entire season without any pain.

This year I switched from the Salomon Performa 9.0 to the 1080 and that has made a huge difference. One bad landing and my skins were gone in my old boots. But I haven't had shin pain all year

Is it cheating if the girl is from another country?

Some one please help !!!

yea i got performa 7.0s and its the same for me, one bad landing and my shins are gone for the day, mayb ill look into some new boots

im echoing a buncha other people, but its all in your landings. the boot can be a factor, but i have rossi freeride xx which are dope boots that fit me well, but a few days ago i cased a table hard and ive got some sick shinbang. so just don't case tables and land backseat.

and to ECKevin, i agree with whoever already said so, but the thing you said was the stupidest shit ever. don't loosen your boots, tighten them if anything.

'Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics...Even if you win, you're still retarded'

THats a lot easier said than done. But yeah skill and speed and landing all have something to do with shin bang. If everyone landed perfectly everytime of course there would be no shin bang

you can have the best boots but they can be fitted poorly and cause shinbang. just make sure they fit your foot well and you wont get it even on bad landings. then if that doesnt work just dont ski and sleep in.

I would suggest getting a soft boot. I have Line transfers, and they are def the best boots i have ever ridden with. they have all the best features of hard and soft boots. the nice and soft flex is awsome for park, and will eat up shinbang ( i used to get it all the time, not once this season) and in the stiffer setting it skis steeps and pow great.

'about 15-20 minutes after i'd started pushing, the thing came out of my ass. I felt so relieved i started to cry. now here's the funny part. Because the shit was so hard and so big, after it was out my body went into shock. I turned all clamy, my clothes and my body were soaked in sweat, and i started to shiver and spasm uncontrollably. I just sat back on the pot and decided to wait it out. I sat on the fuckign toilet for over an hour with sweat forming a puddle on the floor, and me feeling like i'd been shoved under snow with no clothes on.' Crystaline Skier

yeah, landing switch doesn't hurt nearly as bad either if you are fighting shin bang
