Yeah, there are a couple of things. First, get boots that fit right. The most important thing in a boot is the arch support. Go to a professional ski boot store (like surefoot) and get custom footbeds. That will take care of 90% of your shin bang and it will make your boot 1,000 times more responsive and comfortable. Then, get pads you can put on the inside of your boot, between your shin and the front of your boot. Fasten them down with a power strap and make sure there is no gap between your shin and the front of your boot. If you are landing in the back seat there is not much you can do about shin bang because the force of the boot at the back of your leg causes seperation of the muscle away from your shin...thus shin bang. THe only way to prevent that is to not land in the back seat.
