ive been seeing a lot of shifty's lately e.g. cr and tanner in wski106, niklas karlstrom (spelling?) in X etc. Is this the new trick to do? Personally i think they look really good.

...its really cool, but its just going to be another thing that is taken from snowboarding and that EVERYONE does, like no grab spins. Its a specialtly trick that only few can/should do and should never be alowed in comps(ie: phil B. at X-qualis).

Tanner can do what ever the he wants though, and as for CR i dont think he ment to do that shifty.

If im getting this right. If you spin to the left and do a shifty to the right you kinda leave your skis going straight and continue to do a 360, then when you at 90 twist the skis to normal and spin the 3. I think it's like that

u go to do a 3, and at 180, you stop and turn your skis the uther way, then whip them back and complete the 3. maybe in the tricks sectionary.

The 360 with a shifty was called a 'rewind' in the 1080 promo tape Salomon made like 8 years ago... The more things change the more they stay the same eh? I've been doing steezy twisters for years. Just so long as you're not penciled out you're all good...

I think what the consensus here would be if there's no spin= twister, with a spin= shifty, the concept of a rewind 'shifty' is much harder than a straight jump 'twister'- cause you loose your rotation momentum when you snap your skis back at 180

the trick niklas karlstrom does is old school, if you watch the beginning of X ul see a guy do one, but anyway, shiftys are the shit, our crew has been down with them forever, theyre so fun to throw into 180s and 3s, or to just do them straight airin it

Twisters are done fully streched out like old school mogul helis, where as a shifty is done with your legs totally bent.

Coyote excuse me but what are you talking about. Didnt people used call them Helies. they dont anymore now its 360. people used to call them twisters but you cant do a New school Twister. that would be a Shifty.

i was doin them way back in the day, but i think theres a dif between shifties and twisters. shiftie, you put your whole body into the motion and twisters you just twist you feet as far left or right as you can.

listen. shifties aren't twisters and twisters aren't shifties. not even close. nobody stole it from anybody. shifties are sick if they're done right. you don't need to get technical, they're completely different. period. i think what looks so rad is the fact when you do a shifty right it looks like you're stalling your spin out. this can't be done by twisting your feet. shifties you freakin twist your whole torsoe. come on now. not even the close to a twister. use your eyes. ya'll wanna see a sick shifty then check out john symms' switch shifty 7 in teddybear crisis. it's perverted.
