Sheffield ski arena (fake hill)

Anybody in the UK ever ski here? This shit looks great, and Im wondering how it skis. They have a pipe, qp, jump, rails and a mogul lane, and its all on fake stuff that resembles astro-turf. Why cant they build more of these?

Think carpet burn !!!

Its padded underneath so its soft(ish) to land on.

Theyve got a bump lane, rails, a half pipe, qp, and some tables. Also 2 water jumps. Its like a frickin jibbing Disneyland! Good concept, could be done waaay better with more money.

The friction is really high on the stuff so you have to sit back to get moving which plays with your balance - and if they havent wet it for a while and you pick up speed you can smell your bases melting !!!! (hmmmm, warm wax smells so good)

Yeah the other cool thing is that if some of you guys moved over there you could be almost instantly pro. Most of the pros (well maby not totally pro) over there do like 720s as their best trick...check the Line UK website they have some pretty bad skiers.

haha..yeah..they have some kids on five-0's and 153's called 'pro' who do backflips and 3/5 and the occasianal 7 as thier best tricks..our pros would turn some heads over there..hell..most of the people on this board that are decent could be pro there

i thinik it's always been avalable..but noone uses it here because we have normal snow..it's kinda like a last resort type thing

I think the reason you don't see them is because they cost from 1-3 million to build, not including the operating and maintenance costs.

that looks awsome!!!.... its also really expensive to build though i dont think they will be popping up all over the place over in the US

all the worlds a terrain park and the people are just jibbers.
